Ransom Interstate

I meant to write this review in October 2019.From the moment we decided to move from the NSW South Coast to Queensland, we put a call out for quotes to move us. Vicki from Ransom Interstate came back to us with a quote that we were extremely happy with. From then on it was smooth sailing. Vicki kept in contact with us and on the big day, the guys from Ransom Interstate came and were just so awesome to deal with. They were so professional, helpful, caring, accommodating and very very pleasant to liaise with. When our furniture arrived in Brisbane, they were again, awesome. They treated us and our possessions with the utmost respect and that was a huge comfort to us. If anyone is looking for a removalist, do yourself a favor and book with Ransom Interstate. You definitely wont regret it. We didnt.

Such a chaotic move! Numerous faults including:1. They subcontracted a packing company which wrapped even plastic toys in paper, and even packed the contents of drawers (the removalists agreed that the contents could have been left in drawers). This was very inefficient in terms of time, space, and materials.2. They packed the van very inefficiently. (We have moved many times before as well as worked in the industry previously, and other removalists have made much better use of space). There was plenty of free space which caused things to shift during the move and some objects were broken and dented. They claimed that they only used 60 cubic metres because it was unsafe to use the van's full capacity of 65, but still charged us for 65 cubic metres.All the above led to a massive overcharge as they charged per cubic metre used, which they only partially reduced after hard negotiation. They still had our stuff and demanded full payment before unloading so they had us over a barrel.3. They used a leaky van which caused water damage - it was a large leak and I find it incredible that it hadn't been noticed before.Careless handling of our furniture leading to more breakages, poor communication from the loaders and unloaders, didn't even have their own toolbox to dismantle our beds etc and they flat out refused to put our things back together.

What a fantastic removal company. From the very start with Vicki-Maree, the communication was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble for these guys and the respect they showed to me and my furniture was amazing. Heath as the controller on the day was brilliant and the young fellas were so polite (excuse me Ma'ams" all day long). I am so glad I chose this company to move our belongings. This interstate move has been the best we have ever experienced. Our previous removalists cancelled on us the day prior to pick up from NSW to QLD just before the borders were closing, stress levels were high. After posting a job on FindAMover Vicki called me quickly and helped us to make a plan. Not only was she kind, compassionate and professional but her team were incredible! Declan and Daniel were punctual, efficient, friendly, and SO quick at both collection and drop off. Vicki and Heath popped in to meet us and check on the delivery and we were so appreciative of this personal touch. I would not hesitate to recommend Ransom Interstate to anyone. 5+ stars.

I can not recommend this company highly enough we have unfortunately had to move three times in the past 12 months and when I originally called Vicky she was so helpful as we had to move 2100klm and the team handled all my belongings with care and pride. I then got in touch with her as our rental had mould and I needed to move with only three days notice! Vicky moves mountains to fit me in which I was so happy about! I then lost my nan and her antique furniture and fragile Chrystal needed to be stored and handled with great care they achieved this for me also and also collected them and brought them to my new house which was my final move! From the start of our interactions with Vicki and the team at Ransom Interstate to the end, it has been an amazing experience. There were no financial surprises, everything was in black and white and explained very clearly before the truck arrived.Their transport trucks are fantastic. Specifically built to ‘tier’ and shelve your belongings so there are no massive weights of boxes on top of each other.As we were moving from Sydney to Sunshine Coast, Ransom Interstate also offered very very competitive storage options for our precious cargo whilst we arranged accommodation.When we had, I simply called, arranged for delivery and sure enough, the truck was there and the nicest staff took great care and effort unloading as they did initially loading all those weeks ago.I would recommend Ransom Interstate in a heartbeat to anyone looking for an amazing mover.My only advice to anyone, what you think you may have in removal volume, add another 1/3rd to it that way you aren’t surprised. Either way, Ransom don’t share your load with anyone else so you’ve got piece of mind of safety and security.Thanks so much. Can’t recommend enough.

ZERO STARS - DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS - DAMAGED ALL MY FURNITUREOn 30th June 2021 I contacted Ransom Interstate with a request for a quote from Tamworth NSW to Bundaberg QLD. I received an immediate answer with an approximate quote. After readingglowing reviews (obviously fake) I was sure that I would receive a quality and professional full-moving service and so I sadly trusted Ransom Interstate with my belongings. The moving date was set for 14 December 2021.I am very disappointed as nothing had been professional from the day of the move. Since the 23rd December 2021 after I made contact regarding all my damaged property, my phone calls and voice messages and emails have not been answered or returned.I was expecting the movers at 6-8 a.m. but they came 4 hours late which made loading last until late in the evening. Removalists were taking their time loading the truck on their phones and smoking. I took out so many boxes with my trolley and other items for them to load to get the job done quicker.I was charged extra for the load than what was quoted and had to pay before delivery, which I was happy to do had my belongings been looked after. However, the employees were negligent and incompetent in doing their job and damaging all my belongings. I would have been better off selling all my furniture and starting again.Removalists were to call me an hour before delivery so either myself or my dad could attend the property if I was not yet in Bundaberg. No call received.Keys were meant to be left in the shed where they had got them from. I arrived here at midnight with my four-year-old and keys were nowhere to be found. I had to smash a window to break in as my other set of keys were still with the real estate company.The condition of my delivered furniture and belongings is absolutely appalling. Damaged furniture everywhere, Items missing.My House was freshly painted for me to move in. Paint damaged in a number of rooms and on doorways. I've had to hire a painter to fix the damage.Dumped almost everything in the front lounge room.Dining table left upside down with two legs taken off and chunks taken off wood.Everything was filthy, dirty and covered in dirt dust.They put all large and heavy timber furniture in the shed. The point of paying for a removalist is so I don’t have to move the furniture myself. Being a single parent, I had to pay others to carry the furniture inside for me.My brand-new fridge that was unopened and still in original box had a big gash across the front of the box and damaged the front door.There was a pile of unused blankets about a meter high once the truck was packed.Some of the damage includes my fridge, computer monitors, two cream fabric lounges covered in black stains and cuts in the fabric, 8 damaged large canvas prints, smashed glass on large framed pictures and damaged frames {glass was put in my wheelie bin and some left on the front lawn}, damaged lamps (one antique), damaged microwave, two damaged computer chairs, countless excessive damaged boxes with many broken items, damaged antique dresser, 3 legs broken on ottoman, wall clock, vacuum, towel rack, antique brass hat stand, stereo, single new chair hole in fabric, two damaged mirrors, damagedoutdoor setting, my large business sign damaged, missing bed pieces so my daughters bed cannot be put together, damaged timber furniture – Buffet, bookshelf, dining table, bar table and all stools. Some of the items were antiques and are irreplaceable.

Terrible experience with this company, unfortunately they were a day and a half late, then we’re unable to deliver goods for two weeks, when they did arrive all was broken or scratched. Very poor handling of goods and most material goods were absolutely filthy scratched or torn. pictures had been stretched. Was just a horrible experience too and yes as others have mentioned you can nearly guarantee the price will double and they will not unload until you have paid the new double quote. No response at all when trying to negotiate with them. You will regret every minute of using this company, they were nice but I have a feeling now in hindsight that was to try and take your attention off what they were doing.Very disappointed. And I really really hope you read this before you agree to anything with the company.

From the first enquiry to the final delivery the service at Ransom was very professional.I recently moved from Townsville to Brisbane & could not recommend a more reliable & efficient service. Ransom is well priced with no hidden fees or charges. Vicki is wonderful to deal with & will put you at ease with the whole process which is usually a very stressful event. The truck turned up at the time advised with Heath & the guys working swiftly to get the truck loaded & on the road. Great care was taken with my belongings & I was kept informed every step of the way. Delivery was as stated with all my items placed in the requested areas.Excellent job! Excellent service!
