Mr Chu Contemporary Eatery
Nice food. Very tasty. Mandarin cocktail was lovely. Good serving sizes. Pity, even though I booked we were seated by the door while the couple before is who hadn't booked got a table far away from the door. The table service was prompt. They have multiple sittings so you get a limited time ro eat your meal. Good local winelist.

Had a wonderful lunch at Mr Chu. Went in expecting not a lot, just an ordinary brunch, however the food was not bad. We ordered the calamari salad, nasi goreng, laksa and mushroom truffle. The food arrived swiftly, portions were very generous and overall the food was good. The laksa could’ve been better, regardless 4/5.

We were going to a show at Norwood Town Hall and needed dinner beforehand. Mr Chu's was very conveniently placed for that. The venue is great - fantastic decor. The staff were lovely and we were in and out in plenty of time for our show without being rushed. Menu has lots of options and the serves are generous.

Last Saturday my husband and I went to Mr Chu and we really like. All good, delicious brunch, the coffee was so good and the staff really friendly. I recommend that place.

Top marks for Mr Chu Contemporary Eatery.Very welcoming.Spotlessly clean (including the washrooms).No delays in service.Food was flawless.Not overly expensive, but if the product and service is right one wouldn’t mind a somewhat higher price-point anyway.VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Ate in a large group of around 15. They didn't have a big enough table so we were split on two.The food was excellent all round and no one had a bad word to say. Only dropping a star because they forgot my meal and I was told it would take 20 to 30 minutes to make a new one because they were processing orders for other tables. Surely if you make a mistake, you fix it before moving into your other customers. I ended up cancelling the order because I would have been eating by myself and everyone would have been waiting for me.

The food was very fresh, tasty, and well presented.I had S&P squid, and it was perfect!The wagyu beef was also cooked just right and melted in my mouth.Reports from those who had the soft-shell crab curry were that the sauce was too spicy hot. Be warned!Nice selection of beers, wines, and cocktails, too.Bench seats are very comfortable.

I had the 'FEED mE' meal (roughly 70 bucks per head) with my husband and it was not what I expected after hearing good reviews of this place. We were served scallop as starter and light meal of fried tempura brinjal and fried squid, mains were lamb rib and soft shell crab fried again. The taste was just flat as I felt I was eating flour most of the time and it if not what I expected as I wanted more REAL taste than fried food . The setting and decoration for the shop is beautiful but the restaurant falls into our “NO RECOMMEND “category. Sorry guys ..Suggestion:. For the Feed me menu , do a mixture of fried and grill more, I think there are more grill or curry option on your menu that you can serve . Picking wisely perhaps it would be great.Thank you for the dining experience nevertheless

Lovely restaurant with great food. We had the soft shell crabs, fried rice, sashimi and panocotta for dessert. The soft shell crabs were very generous in size. There were two large full sized crabs for each order. The sashimi was much like a Ceviche style with chilli coconut vinegar which was subtle but delicious and fresh. Just the right amount of chilli and spice in the mains and entree without ruining each dish. The panocotta had a touch of liqueur in it which was also delicious. Thank you to the great staff who made our night and helped me subtly arrange a surprise for my daughter's birthday ❤️.

Had a lovely brunch at Mr Chu. It was so kind that they could accommodate my preference (steamed instead of fried rice in a nasi dish). Finished off with a thick and delicious berry smoothie. Overall a great experience.
