The Known World Bookshop

Go and buy 1/2 dozen books from this exquisite shop. If you spend two hours browsing and absorbing the delightfully creative space and atmosphere, the books will be simply a bonus as you'll have been totally transported for free!! You can even enjoy refreshments from the included coffee shop! But I concentrate on the decor and the books. Make a beeline for this shop next time you are on Ballarat. When I'm finished with the book(if I choose not to treasure it for myself), I wrap it up beautifully with some promotional brochures from the shop and gift them to others. Each book is covered and well presented. A mighty popular gift. Go go go!

Michelle was helpful and kind while I was happily browsing the wide range of this second hand book shop. I ended up purchasing tons of old but wonderful books. Her books and prining collection were amazing. I felt like walking back in time because of the Victorian inspired decoration.I was so happy to see new local business doing well during the pandemic. If you wanted to see and enjoy the charm of the book shop itself and the owner. Come here you won't regret. Also, don't forget to say hello to Brian, a lovely dog inside the shop.I went there again. Michelle has expanded her range of books, photos, old stuff and other things you will never need them but you would buy them.

This book store is a book lover’s paradise. It is like stepping into another world where technology has no place.The owner is exceptionally friendly. I went to the shop with my baby girl and the staff were incredibly kind to her.Thank you for the wonderful experience. I look forward to reading my new books and visiting again soon.

Buying books on line can be a gamble. It would seem that many book shop owners have absolutely no idea of what the Post is capable of doing, EXCEPt this bookshop. Care and consideration of the packaging for the post was foremost, thank you.
