Total rip off merchant. Had a script filled tonight unaware that it was going to cost literally double what my normal chemist charges. Completely despicable.

I would rate it 1 star but there are some great staff that have been helpful. Unfortunately other staff have constantly gotten things wrong and are dragging the place down. These same staff are amazingly rude when you go back to sort out their errors. You will hear a person complaining about the rude staff while you’re waiting to sort your own issue. I need scripts filled weekly. I’ve had scripts misplaced by staff, they’ve argued about having scripts there, saying they don’t have them but magically discover them after multiple phone calls and having to go in. I’ve been given the incorrect doses many times and given generics when I’ve asked for non generic medications (always for a serious reason). It’s something wrong more often than not. I have multiple NDIS carers and every single one that has been there has had constant issues. NDIS funding hours spent sorting out chemist dramas. I kept going there to support my local chemist but enough. I’m terminally ill and trying to fight. I don’t need someone else’s incompetence to knock me off sooner.

Team at Amcal Ormeau go our of their way to help.I support a diabetic client with disabilities and we have been searching for ozempic all over. The team put him on a wait list and when they had some come in let us know.Also have had my flu/covid boosters here really easy and quick.

Only moved to the area a couple of months ago - but can not recommend this pharmacy high enough! 4 kids mean pharmacy visits are a regular occurrence. - The extended opening hours coupled with amazing staff always ready to help and chat when you go in, and add on a good range of products; I already have a thorough appreciation for this community staple...

I came down from Townsville and found out I needed a whooping cough injection. I rang Rebecca early and explained my need and she was very professional and got me a 9am appointment . I got there had my injection and was back in my car and leaving the car park by 9:08am. Whilst in the pharmacy I was treated with respect and courtesy. Both staff members I came in contact with were fantastic. I would recommend Amcal Ormeau to anyone.

Went in to book for a flue shot only to be told I have to do it on line they would not help. I explained I don't do on line bookings and I would have to get my daughter to do it. What ever happened to customer service. I was standing in front of her. She was rude of hand and I was obviously a nuisance asking a question. Chemist want us to use them and are pushing to be able to fill out repeats of medication. Do we have to do that on line. I think I will find another chemist that want to help customers.

I had a horrible experience today at Amcal+ Ormeau. Handed in my prescription and was told it would be ready in 5-10 minutes, I waited for 30 minutes before approaching the counter and asking how much longer the wait would be. My prescription was suddenly ready within 2 minutes. However, they got it wrong and the medication was not what I was prescribed. I insisted that they provide the correct medication as prescribed, but then there was a problem changing my transaction on their computer system, and I was made to wait while they talked amongst themselves trying to work it out, ignoring me as they did so. Not once was I apologised to for the wait. Once they sorted it out after about 10 minutes, I paid and left, but when I got back to my car I discovered they had overcharged me by $25. Back in I went, and waited another 10 minutes while they tried to figure out how to refund me (again ignoring me whilst they did so). Finally got the refund and left, by this time it had been an hour since I first walked in. Terrible customer service, I won't be back.

Worst service ever! DO NOT GO HERE!I have had a few encounters with this store and have been unhappy EVERY TIME but was giving them the benefit of the doubt due to being stressful times for everyone but this was the last straw. The staff are more interested in having a social chat then they are actually caring for the customers. They do not care if you have an appointment and will just run on there own schedule, all disregard to customer service. I had an appointment this morning, showed up on time and was told to take a seat and the other employee would talk to me about my appointment. I took a seat and had to wait 15 minutes for her to even acknowledge that I was in the store (and this only happened because I walked back up to the counter) because she was too busy having a social chat to do her job. I know what she has done for the past two Christmas' and new years that just went, that she has a husband and two nieces and how they behave and this was not even my conversation but her social chat with a customer. She did not even seem sorry when I brought it up and just said that she was with another customer. She also had no idea about my appointment even though I had it booked and then just told me that the machine was hired... so after wasting my time with her chat, she was not able to help me with what I was booked in for!
