Hentley Farm

Experienced a truly unique wine tasting today with friends at Hentley Farm. Arrived expecting the usual wine tasting but left after a few hours with a treasured and memorable afternoon, and of course some beautiful wine. A shoutout to James but especially Ashley who looked after us and just took the whole wine tasting experience to the next level. Allow at least an hour and half and you normally would need to book, there is also a gorgeous fire on those cold winter days

Outstanding wine tasting and dining experience here. Incredible menu innovation and some really delightful wines to be sampled. Probably the number one dining experience I’ve had anywhere in Australia. Sublime way to spend an afternoon in the vines.

If I could give this 10 stars I would. We were recommended to visit the Farm and told it is one of the best restaurants in South Australia. I think this was well undersold and Hentley Farm is, in my opinion one of the finest dining experiences in Australia. I believe to get a hat the restaurant has to provide wine from multiple vineyards, where Hentley Farm only pairs its meals with its own wines.I don't care. My measure of a meal is how many times it makes me close my eyes and simply live in my taste buds, Hentley Farm did this with every mouthful. The food is light, well measured and balanced beautifully across the wines offered, each bite will surprise and delight you with the wines providing a complementary but not overwhelming experience. The food is definitely the center of the experience.Service is impeccable and I could not fault the pacing, the delivery, the reveal. The restaurant outlook on a sunny day is truly beautiful, looking out over a valley with vines scrolling up the hill into the crystal blue skies. We spent 4 and a half hours relaxing and reveling in the food, the wine and the location.Be clear, this kind of quality, service and location is not cheap. However if you haven't eaten at Hentley Farm put it on your bucket list as its up there with any dining experience in AustraliaEdit 2023Having returned to Hentley Farm for lunch post Covid, I can absolutely standbhind my original comments. This is one of the finest meals and service experiences in Australia.

My friends & I came to Hentley Farm for a wine tasting. Eleanor guided us through the tasting, she was fabulous and she was very knowledgeable about each wine poured. You could tell she has a passion for all things wine. She was friendly and shared a few laughs with us which made for a great social experience. Delicious wine, picturesque property, serene atmosphere & great service. An absolute must do when at the Barossa Valley!

Our spontaneous trip to Hentley Farm was our favourite experience in the Barossa. We came for a short tasting and spent almost 2 hours enjoying the wonderful wines, ambience and delicious food. Our host Eleanor was knowledgeable, charming and truly provided such a differentiated experience. Cannot recommend Eleanor highly enough, definitely add this experience to the list!

An amazing winery experience in a beautiful 1800s homestead. The ladies were so accomodating and delivered the best homestead. Offered us a beautiful seat next to the fire to enjoy their delicious wine and a beautiful bread platter! If your in the Barossa you cannot miss this winery

The best wine tasting experience in the Barossa Valley we've ever had. Eleanor our hostess was amazing and really made the afternoon and experience one to remember.

Phenomenal experience. The attention to detail of all staff to their craft was amazing. Starting off with a walk through the kitchen to watch the magic happen. The aroma of burning firewood in the air. Delicious snacks to start, lobster and kangaroo as mains with perfectly matched wines. Finishing off with passionfruit egg, marshmallows on a stick and take home cookies! The complete package. Highly recommend !
