Gary is a cocky individual who sold my little brother software to fix my eyes but didn’t specify it was only for windows, which we didn’t have, no refund no help. Furthermore he will make it as difficult as possible for you to switch optometrists, even going to the extent of sending passive aggressive emails to the offices that kindly ask him for basic details of the customer such as prescription. he reprimanded me in his office and when i tried to switch over to another optometrist because he was being rude, he refused to send me my documents and details of my prescription and so on. very uncooperative, slimy and artificial person. I DO NOT RECOMMEND EYES IN DESIGN WHATSOEVER.

I always appreciate my appointments with Gary. I have confidence in him as a human being of integrity and his approach to eye health. I believe across the years that his care has helped my vision long term. He is a person committed to innovation. I have a real respect for this. The staff are always helpful in the important ways of ensuring that my new glasses suit and flatter. ​

We have been introduced to Gary and his team at Eye InDesign Mosman 10 years ago and have always been very impressed with their professionalism and after sales care. Not only have I been lucky to be given the chance to opt for the life changing ortho-k experience since 2015 but my family of 4 have always had a wonderful welcome and thorough consultations leading to preventive treatments - which simply cannot be found anywhere else. Ortho-k changed my life - allowing me to conduct my professional fitness coaching daily with no constraints for over 8 years - and my vision has never been so good. We simply do not believe anyone could fault Gary and his team as they have always show excellent professional - even when we had to move back to Europe and kept in touch making sure all was well with our prescriptions.

Dr Gary Rodney is one of the most patient and kindest Optometrists. He has state of art equipment and his knowledge is impeccable. In one week he has referred me to ortho k lenses for short sightedness and it has changed my life for the better. The toughest thing is putting on the lenses and removing them but he still patiently keeps assisting. All his front staff are very friendly too. When you see him you won’t be disappointed.

My first consultation with Dr Gary had been the most helpful eye examination i had that helped my understanding of the best options for my condition. I can’t wait to start and try out Ortho K lenses.

We saw Gary Rodney a few months ago and something didn’t feel right. As a mum, my gut feeling suggested that his very complex prescription was not in line with what I was observing. On top of that, He also recommended a daily vision training to correct a number of issues. 450$ package for 3 months and 70$ every 3 weeks for check-ins.During the consultation, I felt he had no patience/ empathy towards lil ones and most importantly I felt he presented us a ‘rinse & repeat’ type of diagnosis. So I consulted with other mums who also saw him and there you go… pretty much every kid who goes there ends up with prescription glasses and the training course. All of that is of course with no medicare rebate - which is personally not a problem then the money is worth it.Anyway, went for a second opinion with a Ophthalmologist (real doctor) - very well known in the industry. Consultation consisted in seeing the optometrist first and then the doctor. Long story short, my kid has perfect vision and doesn’t need any lenses or training! He was not surprised when saw what we got prescribed in the first place and confirmed my gut feeling of the ‘rinse & repeat ‘ type of approach. Looks like I am not the only one who feels that way.

I found Gary and Eye in Design after a traditional optometrist could not identify corrections to help with our vision issues and suggested we try to see a behavioral optometrist. I wasn't familiar with this area of specialty and feel so fortunate that we were referred in. After some research, I found Gary and Eye in Design because of their focus and understanding of other health complexities. Gary was patient, sought to understand the layers of health issues we raised and I was amazed at how much he was familiar with. We've never been so optimistic walking out of a doctors office. We had a feeling of being understood and that's a real gift. There is nothing quite like finding a health practitioner who is passionate about their field and helping others. Thank you Gary.
