Port Douglas is just the gift that keeps on giving and this place is nothing short of that. Pork steak and seafood linguine is what we ordered and was divine, the pork was succulent and the juice was next level which had us licking the plate. Another 10/10 place in this magnificent town. Highly recommend for an intimate night out or for a beautiful dinner with friends.

We ate twice at Zinc during our honeymoon and both times it exceeded our expectations. From the entrees and mains to the desserts, everything was incredible. The staff were friendly, the service was prompt and the food spoke for itself. Hands down one of the best restaurants we have been to!

We’ve been coming here for quite a few years and it never disappoints. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff and excellent menu and ambiance. The steak (eye fillet) was cooked to perfection. I’m not a ‘dessert guy’ but the cheesecake tart with compressed pineapple was sublime!

My 3 star review was prompted by the ‘hyped’ steak by some of the locals, but I can say it was nothing more than disappointing - even before the moment it landed on the table! After finishing the moreish and amazingly delicious Tasmania Salmon Sashimi, I was excited for the main course; the 300g Scotch Fillet. At $62, I thought this was going to be the best steak in town (I had eaten the steak at Watergate down the road, which at this point set the bar).Upon the steak being handled by the waitress like a ring on a pillow at a royal wedding, the moment I saw it land before my eyes my heart dropped. A flattened piece of meat. For a minute I thought I was in some gastro-pub, but then I realised I was in one of the more upscale restaurants in town. I asked myself, “why would they flatten it? It looks ghastly”.Thinking it still may be good, due to the smear of yellow paste and a clump of what appeared to be a nice caramelised onion chutney of sorts, I took my hand on the steak knife and began to cut away at this exy piece of FNQ meat (Far North QLD for you foreigners). I still thought it was too flat for a scotch fillet for $62. The first bite: merely mediocre at best. What a waste. $62 for this? Watergate had my mouth watering and wanting more for a $49 equivalent (and more upscale than Zinc!)The smear on the plate? Mustard. Who serves steak with mustard?? And the clump of onion? Some really sour and overpowering tomato chutney. Why on earth would you serve mustard and chutney with steak?I give the steak 1 star, but the cocktail (Banana Colada), the Sashimi and the service/atmosphere 5 stars. I’m still blown away at the cost despite there being a restaurant literally 1 block away serving Port Douglas’ best steak in town (and a hidden gem).Disappointed, unfortunately cannot recommended but worth the risk if you dare try.I didn’t bother with a great photo because my photo quality matches the quality of the steak - rubbish.

A lovely venue in Port Douglas. I personally felt the food didn’t live up to the rest of the experience. The staff were very personable, particularly in the bar area. I throughly enjoyed my banana colada. I was disappointed by the texture and flavour of the gnocchi and may have had a more enjoyable meal if I had selected an alternative dish. The bread was fresh and the side dishes were more pleasant. The fish tank in the bathroom is a nice touch and worth visiting also.

Awesome restaurant! Great vegan options and huge servings. We had the cob loaf (doesn’t say VG on menu but we checked with the kitchen and it is vegan :)) and tofu for starters then the cauliflower and risotto for mains. All dishes were so nice and staff are very friendly and helpful!

We had a lovely dinner here. We started with two interesting cocktails. We had the seafood tasting menu. The first course was oysters, and they were quite excellent. We then had a sashimi dish followed by a cobia ceviche. Both were excellent. Next up were prawns, my favorite! The main entree was a perfectly cooked barramundi fillet served with a coconut curry sauce. They accommodated my chocolate allergy with a sorbet/ice cream plate while my husband had the chocolate dessert. Our main server was excellent, but others brought out the wines for the wine pairing that did not have much knowledge of what they were serving. One funky detail...the bathroom has a fish tank on one wall.We had a great meal. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Had a lovely meal at Zinc, we didn’t book we were just walk-ins got a lovely table for two the wait staff were engaging and had a good sense of humor. We started with the cob loaf with sukkah and oil, which was a good size to two to three people. We then shared the scallops which we very tasty. Then on to our mains: Pork loin (which had two steaks and Jodie didn’t finish) and seafood linguini (prawns, baby squid, fish) which was beautiful, so we will be back if time allows. The aquarium is a real treat but you’ll need the toilet to get the best view!!

Driving past at night and seeing the beautiful fairylight lit deck of Zinc we had feared this place might be a tourist trap - it looked too beautiful to also actually offer great food. We were so wrong! This place deserves its sterling reputation. All the dishes were fresh and delicious and beautifully presented - the oysters, scallops and the seafood linguine were all incredible (not to mention the cob loaf - warm and crusty, just excellent) and the staff were knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Word of warning though - the portion sizes are quite huge, particularly the pasta; we almost wished we hadn't ordered entrees! We would absolutely return to Zinc.

We had the seafood tasting menu and it was lovely! Every dish was really tasty and the matching wines were perfect. Dessert was the best we had all week.
