Surreal to imagine this quiet site used to be one of the world’s richest gold mine of its time, churning out around USD 400 mil (today dollar) in its lifetime. Surprisingly, the concrete and brick that left abandoned for nearly 100 years don’t look that old

Very interesting area just on the outskirts of Malden Victoria.Unique historical area with lots of Kilns that were used during the gold era.Lot's of old mines and digs too.

The ruïnes are worth to visit. But the walk through the forest is not: the track is not very defined and the info signs give almost no info. Only interesting if you do some reading before your visitBasic parking with clean toilets.

A pleasant place to stop and explore. If I still had young children I would get them to collect wood for one of their small bbq's and have a lovely cooked lunch or dinner. It is an interesting historical walk and a lot can be learned about gold mining in Maldon. Well worth a visit.

An interesting place to explore. The more interesting places have been fenced off but there is still plenty to see and find. The area is quite large so take your time.Read up on the history before visiting to get a better understanding of the history your looking at. Excellent toilet facilities and seating areas.

Maldon is a great place, close enough to Melbourne for a day trip or stay overnight in a B&B. The North British Mines & the remains of the buildings are very interesting & a unique part of Victoria's history. Lovely way to spend the weekend
