Kate has been a wonderful piano teacher to my children Ollie, 11, and Arabella, 7, over many years. Her lessons are both engaging and fun, and through her warmth and kindness she has developed a beautiful connection with both children. Kate is also very much in tune with their individual needs, tailoring their learning to where they're at both intellectually and emotionally, so they are held in a safe and supportive space.As a classically trained pianist myself, I remember growing up feeling I could only play what was written in front of me. So I feel so glad that Kate encourages creativity, expressiveness and self-confidence in my children. They both sit down at the piano of their own accord and play not only the pieces they're working on, but also whatever they feel like - their own compositions, songs they have heard, or just pure improvisation. It is a joy to watch and hear!I have so much gratitude for what Kate offers us. Thank you Kate!

Karen is fantastic at teaching reluctant players. She has incredible instincts with kids, and structures every lesson to suit the child in that day. Very highly recommended.

Our little girl started with Kate when she was 5 years old back in 2021. She used to be our next door neighbour and Eleanor enjoyed learning piano from Kate so much that we continue via zoom since she started her mobile studio. I love how Kate encourages Eleanor to learn on her own pace, learn by hearing and genuinely interested in her musical progression. Her patience with Eleanor is second to none.

Lessons with Karen for my 7yo daughter have focussed on her musicality and creativity. Karen has introduced strong basic techniques that previous schools have missed and encouraged creative expression while introducing elements of music theory that I'm sure will be vital in future years.

We discovered Kate at 'Piano With Soul' three years ago. Our then 10 year old daughter immediately connected with Kate's gentle nature and her fun and creative classes. Kate was flexible enough to continue offering classes over Zoom during lockdown, and we have continued this way ever since. Our daughter loves doing classes in her own home and we have loved listening to the progress she has made. Kate tunes in to the needs of the student and adjusts her classes accordingly. Karen has worked absolute wonders with my two children. Their lessons are a non-negotiable because we know that they learn so much more than piano.
