Having been approached by various businesses for website services, I decided to conduct my own research and study various businesses: their websites; service offerings; functionality; ease of read; time lapse between pages and links; search-ability; response time to queries; and customer service. It became apparent that many sites, while boasting services for design and SEO, did not seem to employ these features effectively themselves. After my initial query to a short-listed few, I was contacted almost immediately by all. Over time, their interest in me decreased and their correspondence gradually diminished.
