During a time of extreme sadness and loss, my family and I are eternally grateful for the compassion, organisation and thoughtfulness of Darren and his team at Len Russell Funerals in preparing the final journey of our beloved sister Marissa.This is also not the first time that my family has utilised the services of Darren and his team at Len Russell and once again their professionalism and experience was definitely something that our family learnt on during a very difficult time.Thank Darren & team for treating and caring for our family as if they were one of your own!

The team at Len Russell Funerals were incredibly professional and helpful.They worked hard to create a perfect memorial for my wife, and connect us with a video service who helped our distant family members be present.

APPALLINGLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND TOTALLY LACKING IN COMPASSION!!!Extremely poor organisation by owner (Darren wrote down incorrect time for our appointment) and appallingly rude woman behind front desk.The woman behind desk, first person you deal with is extremely rude and completely void of kindness and compassion. She apparently is the sister-in-law of this “longest running family run funeral home”.On arrival she accused us of being late - fortunately there were two of us on the line when we made appointment time with Darren which we pointed out - she gave no apologies for their error told us we will have to come back another time.We were the only ones there so I asked if we could make a start on the paperwork, she barely acknowledged my mother and I, just she put us in a meeting room and left us there for a very long time.At this point we had no intention of using them, so I asked if my fathers body was there and she would not answer. She didn’t even attempt to look into anything to confirm whether they had collected my fathers body or not.I ended up going through the staff break room, through the chapel and out to where the hearses were lined up to find a staff member who was just about yo leave. They took me back to the office were they simply checked a small pile of paperwork on the receptionists desk and confirmed within seconds that his body had not been collected from the hospital and was not in their possession.The paperwork was literally within an arms length of the woman at reception.Once we knew they did not have my fathers body I told the middle aged woman that “she should be ashamed of herself” although she was looking at me still no reaction or apology.Thank goodness we were able to leave and not proceed with that awful place.We drove directly to another funeral director who treated us with kindness and respect the minute we walked through the door and everything was organised within a half hour.The only reason my young daughter chose Len Russel was because of its location to Bunnings as a tribute to my father. When we arrived we were disgusted with how unmaintained, dated, ugly and impersonal the entire building was. It looked run down.It was a blessing in the end as just the look of the place was bad enough but the lack of kindness and compassion made the decision for us, despite its location.Our advice - give this dated, jaded business a miss to send off your loved one. There are much more compassionate and respectful choices to lay your loved ones to rest in Ipswich.

Darren's professionalism and thoughtfulness when assisting my parents to pre-plan their funerals was outstanding. He was able to give them peace of mind that their wishes would be honoured. My parents now feel a sense of relief that something so confronting was handled with such expertise and care. Our family is very appreciative of the service that Len Russell Funerals has given us to face the inevitable in years to come with clarity. Thank you Darren.

We were treated with respect and compassion at all times. The whole process of my mum's funeral was made easy with the team at Len Russell. Even the guests commented on the communication they received from Len Russell. They were patient when we needed extra time.

We have been very impressed with the personal and considerate nature of Len Russell Funerals. It's a true testament to their experience and probably why they're still the longest run family owned funeral home in Ipswich. Thankyou!!!There were times when some conversations and topics were a little difficult but only because we were hurting. The staff remained highly professional and compassionate at all times and it really did make all the difference.We also made a few requests for the memorial which they were happy to accommodate, they even made some suggestions too that worked perfectly. We loved everything! Dad would have been really happy and proud. Probably would have had a good old chuckle at the send-off too. I'm getting all teary eyed now.It has been really difficult for us obviously but knowing that Darren and the team were there when needed was really nice. Having that extra shoulder at times like these just helps. Even though the situation is horrible my family and I will look back and have only the best memories for his funeral.
