Elliott Heads General Store

Worst customer experience I have received. I placed a phone order for chips, and was told it was a 20 minute wait. I was happy to wait and arrived exactly on time. As I was in line to pay for my order. The customer in front mentioned that they wanted to order chips but wasn’t on their order at the time. The lady serving said that she had another customer (me) place an order for chips that she could have instead. Asked her what salt she would like and gave them to her. Finally when she asked me what I was after I said that I had ordered chips and she said that it was going to be a little longer before walking away. It was at this time I asked how much longer they would be and she said 10 minutes. I had asked if it was because she gave my order away to the lady in front and she said yes and that she didn’t order them but wanted chips. So as a result I asked for the order to be cancelled if the chips weren’t already in and as a result she kicked me out of the shop saying “I have had a gut-full, don’t let the door hit you on the way out”. Anyways I won’t be ordering from them again as a result as I do not wish to support a place that endorses this sort of behaviour.

The chips are as good as the service is entertainingly poor.Legit though, don't let the mood stop you tasting their bitterly deliciously crispy chips.Pic for lols

Best pineapple fritter I have ever eaten (!!!) and the crumbed fish was on point. The shopkeeper was just as grumpy as the reviews claim but not in any malicious way. Quite entertaining. The shop and keepers are a nice old relic of original Elliott Heads which I enjoyed seeing in its original state.

For your reference, $10 worth of chips fed 4 adults and 2 kids.6 pieces of fish, chips, a potato scallop and two ice creams was $84 in total.No idea what price anything in particular was individually as there isn’t a menu.Pretty good fish and chips. Proprietor had it made in 20 mins.Disappointed we couldn’t get a pineapple fritter after reading another review. Hopefully she’ll get some pineapple in and we can try it next time.

The 1 star review is being too generous, it needs to be a 0. The older woman who served us was the most rudest and disgusting human being I've ever had the displeasure of coming across. We could hear her and a gentleman swearing and carrying on at each other while we were standing there with our 6 year old. Over priced, rude customer service rubbish. Don't waste your time or money.

Good little store with a good range of products

Dont judge a book by its cover! Place looked deserted and run down but took the risk ended up with some awesome fish and chips and had a good yarn with the owners who were actually very friendly

Best fish and chips in Elliot Heads. Great price but you do feel like a bit of an inconvenience being there.

Mouse poo on shelves, bit ferel and the food we chucked away. When I walked in, I was greeted with “ what do you want” in a grumpy tone. Won’t be returning.
