Coles Fairfield

If I could give no stars… I would. Tonight my partner, 2 children and I went shopping in Coles.. as we always do here on a Sunday night. To say we were shocked and disgusted by what happened was an understatement.We were using the self checkout, as we always do - when a not so discreet worker kept bothering us.A little insight to this.. I’m white, my partner is brown and one of my children are brown.This young girl not only made it obvious she thought we were stealing but she did not leave our side. Her facial expressions and actions were disgusting. We walked to the car and I remembered I had forgotten something but I asked my family to wait in the car.I walked back in and used the same checkout near the same young girl and she didn’t even look my way(again.. I’m white). Instead she was bothering another brown family right in front of me. It made it clear what had happened.So to Coles.. train your staff better or hire better people. Also we want to speak to someone about this and how horrible it was for us all.To the young brunette girl who made us feel that way.. I hope in the future you have to deal with exactly how you made us feel. I hope you do not raise children when you’re older to be as hateful as you are. Hopefully Coles takes this seriously like we will be doing. Do better.Time & date we entered the store: 18th of December 2022 at around 6:57pm.

Feb 13th 4.20pm went to scan my groceries and a strange female staff member with dyed black hair, with neck and face tattoos and piercings, invaded my personal space, while checking out. This large pale staff member gave me the creeps, as she stood too close to me and either was ironically implying I was a potential thief (given her jail like Halloween appearance), was casing out my jewellery or was an aggressive lesbian.I questioned her, is everything ok, as she was clearly hawk eyeing me, and making me uncomfortable. She made some excuse of her unwarranted behaviour, by commenting on my purchases.Its great Coles employs a diversity of staff including some with disabilities. However Fairfield is not an inner city ghetto, so I think the store manager needs to hire more stable people with better presentation.This store is hit and miss. A mix of good and a few terrible checkout staff. Strangely enough my previous visit was good, whereby a middle aged male staff member was very helpful when the roast chicken I had was leaking.If this store does not want customers to use the wider better checkouts, open more check outs and serve us, not have bottom level employees playing police, its disrespectful and classless.Other friends have also commented on similar experiences and because of this, now shop at Aldi.

Disgusting service. Store manager hung up on me today because I'm waiting 24hrs later for $300 worth of groceries to still show up! No help no food no money left yep thanks guys you're great

A good Coles, the closest one to me. Has a good selection of everything. Also relatively easy to find parking here. Click and collect service has been quite good, definitely will be returning regularly

Click and collect team are fantastic. In store staff a bit more mixed. Appreciate that this store employs people with a disability and always enjoy our chats . Would love to see more of this .

Don't appreciate the elderley male and female staff who surrounded me while i did Coles job and bagged my groceries. Was the 6ft guy with long hair, 3 bags and case of water. Review the footage of me paying for every single item whilst i shop elsewhere please

Love this Coles. Almost always fully stocked with great fresh produce.In a good little shopping centre as well.

Go elsewhere, only 1 check out open, have to go through self service with trolley full and the staff member looks everywhere else but at service kiosk when you need assistance. Is it literally a prerequisite to be dumb and oblivious to customers to be a staff member at self serve?

i went into the deli and was served by a really rude and grumpy old lady (i think her name was wendy). she saw me and ignored me and walked off. someone from the seafood side had to come serve me. the only reason i’m not giving one star is because the tall girl from the seafood side was really lovely and happy to help even though it was like 7 am in the morning

Maybe leave night shifts to after business hours.To get bread i had to shuffle trolleys myself.Click and collect im.sorry but shouldn't they give way to customers?Not only this coles but all other coles.
