I engaged Roland's services at a critical crossroads with my small business - I was struggling to maintain standards for work I delegated to staff, and as a result I was fixing other people's mistakes. I was working ridiculous hours, and losing money anyway. I felt stuck, I couldn't keep going on as I was. Things had to change drastically, but I couldn't see any solutions.Engaging Roland was a real leap of faith. I knew I wasn't making money and this was an extra cost, so it was either going to make or break my business. I'm glad to say it was a success. I credit a lot of the success of my business as it is now to Roland. He has an uncanny ability to navigate the unknown and help forge a clear path. In each of our sessions I would throw a thousand loosely related thoughts and problems at him, and he'd set about working with me to prioritise and distil everything down to achievable actions. Roland has a great goal-setting system that works, but he wasn't dogmatic about sticking to it. On a few occasions when we were checking in he'd detect some negativity and he would drill down to find the cause, and sometimes would forego the formal goal-setting in order to focus on the underlying problem. I found this really useful as many times I wasn't aware of why I was feeling how I was, but we were always able to figure it out and put a plan in place to address the cause, so I always left the session with Roland feeling like a weight was lifted from my shoulders.Roland's approach is all about helping you as the business owner take control and navigate the path to the right destination for your business and your stated goals. It's not a cookie-cutter approach, and Roland resists what must be a strong instinct to tell me what to do. He instead takes the time to fully understand my own goals, and he then asks the right questions and digs in anywhere where my decisions seem counter to these goals as that's always where the problems lie. It's a really effective approach, and it means instead of only solving the specific problems that came up in our sessions, he has left me with the mindset, the approach and the tools to continue making the right decisions and solving my own problems now that my engagement with Roland has come to an end.Long-term change doesn't happen straight away, and the early sessions can be a hard slog trying to carve out precisely who you are and what your business stands for, but once you have that worked out the changes slowly start and after a few months your mindset and the trajectory of your business change totally. I have no hesitation recommending Roland to any business owner feeling stuck. Roland is the real-deal; he will help you find a path through the uncertainty to the position you want your business and your life to be.
