Beautiful country pub right on the Barton Highway in Murrumbateman. We had dinner there last night, I had the chicken parmigiana and my partner had the pepper pork which came with peppercorn sauce, sweet potato mash and asian vegetables. The parmi was nice, but the pepper pork was out of this world amazing! Have visited a few times before, and will definitely be back again :)

Very reasonably priced for basic rooms. The standout however is the bar/restaurant. For pub grub it was outstanding and the prices are very reasonable. Enormous portions. Chips (which I would normally not eat in a pub) were fabulous and the salad so much more than just lettuce leaves. We had a frittata and the plain burger which far from just a meat patty and bun

Good honest country pub. Nice selection of beer and the food is what you expect. The chicken Parma is a standout of the menu. The pasta is massive but does have a supermarket ‘ready meal’ taste and feel to it.

We've been supporting and enjoying this pub for 14+ years. Up until today the service has been very good and friendly. Food is lovely and good value. VERY disappointed today with one particular staff member who was unnecessarily rude and abrasive just after we arrived. Most of our party were elderly + two 8 years old girls. As we were getting the oldies settled and seated the 8 year olds wandered into the Pokie area (we had no idea there were Pokies in the pub!) A very grumpy staff member (Katrina or Trina) stormed over to our table, 2 nervous little girls in tow, and informed us that children were not allowed into the pokies area and had to be supervised by adults at all times. When I apologized and explained that we were getting seated and did not realise the girls had wandered off, I was rudely lectured by an overly aggressive, patronising Katrina. I'm 70. I was told that it was irresponsible and not what adult supervision was supposed to be!! I accept and understand there are legal implications and obligations for establishments regarding Poker machines. If we had realised the Pokies were there, we would have been more mindful and told the youngsters before hand. We've never been into that area of the pub before. Lunch was supposed to be a happy, relaxing celebration for our group but unfortunately it was spoilt. I accepted we were at fault and I apologized. We needed to be made aware but after apologising, I did not need to be further lectured by an overly zealous, aggressive bully. I strongly recommend Katrina brushes up on her interpersonal, customers skills. Customers pay and are important.

The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. Would pay a higher room rate had the rooms been refurbished/ updated. The bistro/ bar service andfood was excellent. Great location with easy access to Canberra and Yass.

I had dinner here. Unfortunately I arrived too late to get a table near the fire so be there early or make a reservation.Food was lovely, friendly service, large servings.More expensive than the local I'm used to but still good value

Pulled up here on the way back from Canberra to have a drink to celebrate our 23 rd wedding anniversary. Nice place to stop off for a drink but only in moderation. Service was great and plenty of parking.

We have been several times before and always been pleased. However our latest trip was for a birthday lunch with fairly large group. Food was reasonable but can't say the same about the service. The large room out the back was quite cold and atmosphere definitely lacking.
