Elk at Falls

Elk is piece of European paradise just a hop, skip and jump from Melbourne. Do yourself a favour and forget about Buller. Elk is incredible.

Great location ski in ski out. Helpful service carrying bags on the snowmobile. Very good to have drying cupboards for all your wet snow gear to dry overnight.

I highly recommend the beautiful apartments and all the facilities of Elk. Leanne and staff (particularly Jake) are so accommodating and nothing is a problem. Wonderful views, absolutely prime location, ski-in-ski-out, and a great breakfast, too!

We had the chance to stay in both the twin room and the sub-penthouse during our stay. Both were great value with impressive amenity and a lush modern fitout. The views from the sub-penthouse were stunning!Location was perfect, just a few hundred metres (downhill!!) and you’re at the bottom of Hailey’s Comet ready to jet off. It seemed that every restaurant we tried was only a couple minutes walk away also, which was super handy.Inside there is the bar and restaurant, both of which are top class and delivered amazing food and drinks time after time. No need to leave once you’ve had a big day out.Jake was great - accomodating and very helpful. Booking process was practical and simple.The 40° spa after big days on the mountain really topped it off. Now a must-do in the recovery routine.Would recommend to all and hope to be returning for another stay ASAP.

We stayed in September which is off peak so the breakfast was limited to toasted sandwiches (bacon and egg, ham and cheese or vegetable). These were not good. It would be so easy just to serve bacon, eggs and toast instead but they refused.The biggest problem however was the stupid phone app that you need to use to access the rooms. It is a hassle to set up and it is a total pain when you come in from the snow to get your phone out and take you glove or your goggles and beanie off just to activate the phone so you can get in. It also means you and the kids have to carry their phones everywhere or they can’t get into their room. They apparently have wrist bands but didn’t have any available. I won’t stay here again purely because of this.On the positive side Jake, the cocktail bar and the restaurant were superb.

I've been travelling to Falls Creek for many years now and have stayed in many of the available apartments and lodges. Having found Elk, i feel the search for our home away from home at Falls Creek is finally over. The Apartments at Elk are modern, clean and comfortable. Facilities are excellent. The staff are friendly but unobtrusive. The location is perfect. Bob Sugar, the restaurant located on the ground floor is great for breakfast, lunch or dinner followed by a trip to the cosy bar. To cap it all off, Owner Leanne has been great to show us around and introduce us to Elk and Manager Jake - well you could not get a better host. We stayed a couple of times during '22 season and can't wait to return in '23.

Absolutely the best place to stay at Falls! Perfect location, fantastic amenities including loads of storage, spa for aching muscles and newly renovated apartments. Leanne and the team are awesome and the restaurant and bar downstairs perfect with a cozy fire for apres ski. So close to everything that you can come and go as you please. Will be back!!

The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely and the staff were very helpful. The food was nice, though not the best. However, we arrived at 7 and were asked to leave at 8:10 given someone else had booked our table. We felt this was a bit sudden, and weren't quite ready to leave. We'd have been alright with this if we'd been told at the start of the meal but an hour to order, eat and enjoy a meal seems quite short.

Whole experience from start to finish was amazing. Leanne really helped us last year when we had to reschedule. I was super grateful that they managed the pandemic situation really well. They also emailed me with updates regularly and even gave a detailed list of what we need to organise at the slopes and what they offer, ext. The service we got from Jake was incredible, especially since he was by himself (Two staff away due to covid) This guy was flat chat the whole time we were there, but never ever skipped a beat, he touched base during our 4 days. His organisation was just incredible. We were really impressed. He also did all of this with incredible customer service, he was really genuine and nice. I very highly recommend staying here if you plan a trip to Falls Creek. The hotel room was super comfy, they had chrome cast, heated wardrobe for clothes and it was warm. They have the spa, a bar lounge and Bob Sugar Restaurant, everything you need in one spot. And only a short walk from the chair lift. Cannot thank everyone enough for making out stay super comfortable and enjoyable. Cant wait to come back.I didn't have many photos from the hotel, but photos on their website are what to expect. here is a beautiful bird that was outside our window and a gorgeous photo they had in the hotel room. ☺
