Junction Pools campground

Toilet is well kept. Campsites suited to small tents and hikers not for 4wds or trailer camping. Beautiful spot just use it for what it's suited to. For 4wds just head further down the Barrington Trail to Murray River for picnic tables and bigger grassy spots suited to 4wd camping and trailers.

This campground whilst accessible with a 4WD is design for hikers & mountain bikers. The designated camping spots are fenced off to vehicles, making it impossible to camp next to your 4WD. The designated campgrounds itself is covered with grass but grows in clumps making the ground extremely bumpy, and limiting where you can camp. There is one toilet facility for the entire grounds. The Barrington River which flows next to the grounds, was flowing quiet well when we were there. A great source of clean, fresh water for showers or washing. And if brave enough to face the cold water, for a dip. As mentioned, it is a suitable campground for hikers and mountain bikers, but my low rating is from a 4WDers POV. Not suitable if you like camping beside your vehicle.

Campground catering more for hikers. Fenced off camping area - tent camping only. Meaning, the grassy areas that are designated campgrounds, vehicles cannot get to. So, no camping beside the vehicle. Having said that, it seems many have used the makeshift dirt carpark as camping spots based on the several firepit remnants on the ground. The day we were there, the designated campgrounds was covered with grass but it's the type of grass that clumps in a bush, making it hard to find a large flat ground to pitch a tent. The ground of the entire large upper section is in a slight incline. The much smaller lower section (next to the river) is flatter, but also much further away from the carpark. The river is beautiful with steady flowing water. There is toilet facility (1x).

Campgrounds beside junction river. Basic amenities. Walking tracks nearby. Road in is four-wheel drive only. Slow going but worth it.

Nice swimming, you cant get through to ladies well/allan river campground from here in a car.

Lovely spot, best as a walk in camper. Basic toilet, beautiful running water with nice swimming pools (although it's chilly). Not cheap, considering there isn't anything here... at $6.00 for adults and $3.50 for kids.

Nice place to visit. Not much flat ground to set up camp on. Fun little 4x4 track to get there on.

Very remote area, takes 4wd to get to and some patience, road is quite rough at moment, but only suitable for tents, not vans

This was definitely one of the most beautiful camp spots I stayed at while hiking through Barrington.There is an eco toilet and plenty of scars to set up your campfire.There are leeches here. Quite a few when I went in March. If you have a problem with them, invest in some 80% DEET. Did the trick for me!Road access is available.River crossings may need to be avoided when water levels are high.

Directions from duns creek to junction pools sent me to a closed rd. Locked gate at lagoon pinch needs to be added to maps. I have suggested an edit .
