Tribe Lifestyle Hairdresser Manly

I came to Tribe looking for a hairdresser to sort out a bit of a mess caused by the last barber who tried to cut my hair. Lisa worked miracles with what she had to work with. Great consultative approach, and very sharp haircut as an outcome. The staff who took my booking were also very nice and friendly, the shop is very light, bright and airy and is a very pleasant place to sit and enjoy the experience. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough, if you want a professional haircut from an experienced and consultative hairdresser, look no further.

Had a great experience with this salon. I live in the CBD but the double trip was worth it. Jo made an incredible job with my balayage. I wasn't too sure how much blond I want to put in at the beginning so she offered me to come back in a week or two if I feel like I could do more which I actually took advantage of. Even though I ended up with shorter hair than I initially wanted to I'm happy with the outcome. So if you're looking for naturally blended balayage, definitely pick Jo. Great service!!

Very happy with my wash + blowdry. Usually takes ages (and more than one hairdresser) because my hair is pretty long, thick and unruly, but Sarah did everything on her own, didn't stop once and was super chill the whole time. Can't recommend enough :)

Most amazing experience at Tribe! Best Hairdresser to get a Blow Dry in Manly! I booked in a Blow Dry with Dario. He listened to my request for glamorous curls to attend a black tie event that night. The service was professional and friendly. The result was amazing!!! I got so many compliments on my hair that night. The hair also stayed in shape on the following days. I had perfect curls on day 5 and was still getting compliments. Highly recommend Dario and the team at Tribe!UPDATE: I went in last week and got a blow dry with Britney. She was fantastic!!! She used a different technique to Dario but I loved the result! I needed curls for an event the next day. She ensured that the style would last over night and my hair was perfect the next day! Thank you Britney!

This review is based on only a single visit but I decided to review the business because I had such a pleasing experience. Back in middle of September, I was visiting Manly Beach for the first time, and my dry brittle awry hair was driving me crazy as I was walking, so I decided to chop it off completely and get my first short haircut in 14 years and first ever pixie cut on a complete whim. Sarah did an excellent job and my new hairstyle looks really good--many people have told me I actually look like a new person. I only regret not getting this cut during the summer, when I arrived in Australia. This is the most expensive hair cut I have ever had in my life, but I plan on going back to get a fringe trim and color soon. Hopefully I will have a similarly pleasant experience!

While I’m happy with the end result, I was disappointed with my first visit to Tribe Manly.Simple niceties I look forward to when having my hair done were missing.I was offered only water - No coffee or tea. I was left to wait at the basin for a long time with dropping hair and no towel. Staff put on a happy face, but seemed miserable.I only have my hair done 3 times per year and look forward to the pampering. I won’t be back.

Really disappointing experience with Tribe and saddened by the lack of care when I asked the owner for a partial refund. I booked an appointment via the phone for a trim, treatment and face highlights. Was stunned to learn the cost of the appointment AFTER it had been done despite me leaving with wet hair and very little change. All because they had booked me with a 'specialist' although at no point was this advised. I was quoted a lot less on the original phone booking. I wish I could upload a before and after photo. I went in with long brown hair and came out with long brown (un blow dried) hair but $335 lighter! At payment I was so shocked by the price I thought it was a typo and asked her to check but she explained she was a specialist so it cost more. I didnt know what to do or have the budget for this, so paid on my credit card and called the salon a day or so later to ask for an explanation and some support. The owner was cold and when I explained I didnt want to come in for 'fix' due to both embarrassment and anxiety, he gave no solution and made me feel like it's my fault and that I should have known. Yes I should have known THEY booked me in with a specialist. I also expected a better treatment than the half a**sed one I received by a student. No wonder this place has a high staff turn over. Disheartened and it wont surprise me if the owner replies to this with some BS response because it's clear money favours customer experience in his eyes.edit: the high turnover comes from the fact that I've had a different hairdresser every time despite asking for the previous one. And again you are missing my point, I understand you aren't robots and I have commended Sarah's kind qualities, but the expectation wasn't set nor was I advised it would be higher cost because of Sarahs skill set. As I have mentioned in my emails, which you saw the before and after photos of, I dont feel comfortable coming back to sit in a chair for a few hours after this ordeal. So how is that fair.

I have had the worst experience at manly tribe. I had an appointment at 9:30. the salon was still closed. At 9:40 a guy came waiting with me. After a while he figured it is his job to open the salon. It turned out my hair stylist. It was is first day, His English language skills were poor. I had repeatedly explained my situation. Due to an autoimmune disease I had lost a lot of hair in 2020. finally my hair had grown back to 85% normal. As I was insecure about my hair after this trauma, I let him convince me to cut layers „to create volume“. However, I am left with extremely thinned out hair. The other staff at the salon did not even greet me. My hair was not even Styled at the end. From start to finish - it seemed all unprofessional.
