New place with great potential. If you are in the area go and support them.The old school house has had a loving makeover and it is a great space, the playground and surrounds make excellent spaces for outdoor dining.The day we went they were still getting their act together, but you could see it will be great when they do.We had someone with Celiac (NO Gluten) in our group and we checked before going and was informed they had GF items, but we got there to find there was only one item (A GF Chocolate Brownie)The coffee was lukewarm. Very limited selection of other drinks, they were out of juice the day we went. If you are sitting outside it can be difficult to get attention after your first order is placed.On the up side the staff were friendly, the meals we got were good.

Amazing smashed avocado on toast, the bread was to die for, and incredible dukkah. Coffee was also very nice. The converted school house was cool and breezy on a scorching day, such a unique location.All the flavour and flair of a Melbourne cafe at a fraction of the price. Will definitely return.

Had the Trout Pastie, which paired perfectly with the local citrus and mustard relish. Coffee great! Staff friendly - just because it still looks like a school, walk on in through the gate! Definitely worth a call in, even if just for a loaf of bread!

Lovely ambience, cute blackboard notations, very nice food, reasonably priced. Pleasant staff.One small criticism, plates of cakes uncovered just where you order.

I love the Schoolhouse Thornton. It is light and airy with plenty of character. I especially love the blackboard and old school type displays. Whilst the selection of food items is less varied than previously, there is something for everyone. The artisan bread is sensational as are the pepper trout pies. Great to see a locally produced food item a feature in these. The quality of items is second to none. It is obvious that Jody takes immense pride in her work. Can’t wait for dukkah to make it back on the shelves. Jody’s blend is streets ahead of any others I’ve tasted to date.

Delicious coffee, amazing range of cakes, sandwiches, foccacias, pies and other goodies. The staff are very friendly and helpful
