Great selection of books with friendly service, went there looking for kids mandarin books and found what I needed. Convenient location, close to train and bus station and Box Hill central. Highly recommend.

A very comprehensive chinese book store. Went there for a English-Chinese dictionary. Customer service was superb. Last immediately greeted me as I stepped in and ask if I need help. I showed her a picture of what I need and she gets it right away for me.I asked about the website and she explained very clearly to me.If ever need another item, it’s just a phone call and then pick up. Thumbs up!

I agree with the reviewer Janice Ong about one of the staff whose name is Tina. She was rude and arrogant on several occasions when I went there. She lied a few times when she promised to order something for me but didn't. If she wasn't pleased with you she set an atmosphere to make it very unpleasant for you. She must be the boss to afford to do this.

The lady at the counter was super helpful and definitely knows how to help me. She knows what is in the shop and is very experienced. I went in to buy a Chinese English dictionary and she knew exactly what I needed. I also liked her style as she was honest and let me decide as a customer. She also explained the product again to ensure I understand what it is when I asked to look at the dictionary. It was sealed so I asked if I could look at the set up. Straight way she said yes & went to remove the seal for me.I learnt a character the day before, I knew the pin yin, I could find that straight away when I looked through the dictionary. I said I'll buy it ( immediately). I also saw some red packets that I liked. There was 1 style that I wanted to buy. I said please add this too. She said we sell individually so you can buy how many you like. I said can you please count how many there is in the packet? She counted and said there is 16. She explained they put 2 packets into one.The thing I really like about this lady is - she knew I did not speak Mandarin. She treated me as a valued customer in the bookshop that had majority Chinese books. It makes me comfortable to go in and ask for help. It is the attitude that will encourage more and more people who do not speak, read or write Mandarin to learn Mandarin. This is the attitude to embrace if the wish that Mandarin will one day become a lingua franca round the world. Embracing all Chinese descent as well as everyone else - just like the English language. Put aside the ego and judgement and arrogance and work with a neutral attitude to help and work together. In Chinese medicine, that is to act and move in the Regeneration cycle. The destruction cycle is with the ego, judgemental and arrogant attitude it puts the other person in defense mode naturally.
