Great selection of beer and wine, served with a friendly smile. The food is fabulous, the best calamari we've had in a long time, so tender! The chicken wings were excellent too. Highly recommend

Small but lively joint right on the street. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, 6 beers on tap and many more in cans. Went here for Sunday roast beef night -- the carnivore enjoyed the A$29 roast, not the best of all time, but tons of vegetables and good gravy. Roast beef seemed to be put on a grill to warm up before being sent out, as it was partially seared, but still good. Vegetarians enjoyed the Welsh Rarebit (beer chesse instead of cheese sauce), fried pickles, and bruschetta (on garlic bread - an interesting but yummy change).Barrel aged stout was expensive (A$19.50/pint) but incredible. Pineapple/jalapeño sour in a can was really good and so unique! Tons of great resturants nearby, but we'd return to Hop & Pickle!

This was a great choice to go for Sunday lunch. I had the traditional Sunday roast complete with Yorkshire pudding. Huge serve with about 6 slices of roast beef with all the veges. Hubby had bangers and mash and said was delicious. And the kids meals came with a drink and ice cream. There was also a vocalist playing and he was so good. Loved it and will definitely be back.

Went here for a meal with friends. Food was ordinary. Burger would have been ok without the very coarsely chopped coleslaw (which had very little flavour so tasted more like plain raw cabbage). Chips were good! Beers and drinks are quite pricey also so definitely adds up for a simple feed.

We dined here on a Saturday. One the of the waiters was attentive to showing us the table and getting menus however one other waited seemed unsure of some requests. My vegan burger tasted pretty good noting that vegan cheese doesn’t melt. There were a few different choices for the beers on taps but the staff weren’t able to describe them. I would suggest making staff aware of the products on offer. Whilst it was ok, I’m not in a rush to return.

Small pub space situated right in the heart of busy Southbank, we stopped in here for lunch while walking through the markets.The menu has UK pub style offerings and you just grab a table and order at the bar. They had a high chair available for my daughter so that was good.The service is pretty relaxed, there’s no rush here, but the food was alright and you can’t go much wrong with an ice cold beer.Keep in mind it’s an open (but covered roof) space so no air conditioning and it was sweltering when we stopped in, but I guess that’s what the drinks are for!

Lovely food, we had roast, roast veges and the chicken burger. All very nice and plenty of. No coffee machine, but next door, good too!
