Aussie Rest Motel Cessnock

The stay was okay, had to ask them to make my bed and vacuum after the third day, no knock from house keeping. Also on the web it says they have a guest laundry, I was met with rudeness when I asked politely about it. Big pet peeve is false advertising like come on guys. As a ex employee of that exact hotel, I’d say things have gone downhill since the handover. Regards, disgruntled citizen

Stayed for a couple of nights recently. The rooms and facilities were clean, working and had everything we needed. Great central location and the owners were lovely. Would not hesitate to book my next stay here again!

Our stay here was very very comfortable! We stayed 3 nights, the rooms were very clean and well decorated, the facilities were great, location was very convenient and the service was impeccable! We also had the added bonus of being next to a pub for drinks and dinner ! Would highly recommend staying here and will be coming back. Thank you Aussie rest motel for a wonderful stay.

Awesome place. Owners are very helpful and kind. Quiet place and rooms cleaned well daily with items topped up. Loved it

The family room is up 15 steps, I have mobility issues. The doona insert on the single bed was very worn, not warm and on holding it up to the light dark mould like patterns could be seen. The owner/manager came to complain about the 3 year old jumping. Suggestion don't live beneath the family room. Also there was filth around the toilet pedestal. The cleaners entered our room when we specifically removed the sign.

Had booked through booking.com 5 days prior to staying and this was confirmed by the property. We planned to stay there as we had an event to go to for my birthday and had a shuttle bus that was to pick up and drop off at the motel.As we had to depart on the bus prior to being able to check in we parked our car and boarded the bus to our event. I called the motel when we arrived at the event to confirm later check in and our room number etc. To be told no booking. After 2.5hours back and forth on the phone trying to resolve the motel finally found my booking and then advised they had doubled booked us and there was no room available. They were great at finding a room at there additional motel and advised us it was a 5min walk up the road. It was actually a 45min walk, with luggage, as we weren't able to drive as we were drinking at the concert. The other motel reception staff was lovely but the room was filthy. Mould, dirt, broken door lock and smelt very musky. Very disappointed and ended up leaving at 530am due to thin walls and noisy other guests, also didn't enjoy the 45min walk back to our original motel to get to our car as no taxis or users were available this early on a Sunday morning. Completely defeated the purpose of booking our shuttle bus. Put a real dampener on what should have been a great week end.

Hair in the bed before I'd slept in it .. long black hair ..I'm a short blondeHot Shower went so cold im 10 minutesSo I had no choice but to get out freezing at 3°Put heating on .. sounded like a gerbil running around in circles.. & slightly warm air still hasn't got the room warm for tonight & I have left it on since I arrived.. maybe it will be warm by next winterIf none if these things are important for your stay ..I wouldn't recommend staying here .

Loved the friendly staff not only at check-in but even more importantly when I rang and booked. The rooms were very neat and tidy and most importantly, the air-conditioning in the room was ice cold
