Having been a client of Josh's both in Australia and on his overseas trips I have no hesitation in recommmending him and the service he provides. I doubt you will find a more professional and dedicated fishing guide not to mention a genuine all round nice guy. My experience with Josh has changed my perception and expectations of fishing guides and how they operate. Without doubt worth every cent. Treat yourself, you will not be disappointed

I've been guided by Josh 3 times in different locations. He's always goes above and beyond to get his clients fish and will be honest about your chances in different locations. Don't let his age fool you as there would be more time and fishing experience in Josh than many guides would get in lifetime. He has a good sense of humour and will help you make improvements in your casting and streamcraft whether you are a novice or more experienced angler. And there's always great photos to take home becasue Josh is also a keen photographer.

I recently went fly fishing with Jack & Henry (guides at Aussie Fly Fisher) and the experience was nothing short of life changing. They were the biggest legends I've met in a long time and we all caught a lot of fish and that was a box of the trip definitely ticked, however I think for me their energy & enthusiasm is what made the day we went fishing with them, one of the best days of my entire life to date.I don't think that holding my first born son in my arms for the first time would even come close to the pure joy and genuine happiness I felt when I held my first brown trout, on the banks of the Tumut River under the guidance, support, love, care & mentorship of Jack & Henry.For anyone considering a trip with Aussie Fly Fisher, you will not regret it - I don't know what happened to me that day on the river, but my experience with them changed my life for the better and I will never be the same again.

I did the beginner course 2 weeks ago, it was absolutely worthwhile.Ive been able to land some beautiful trout with the knowledge Murray has taught me. The bow&arrow cast has been amazing in the small mountain streams around Canberra.

I've just had 2 fantastic days of guided fly fishing with Murray from Aussie Fly Fisher in the Blue Mountains. We caught lots of fish & as a first time fly fisher, I learnt a lot from a very experienced fisherman with a wealth of knowledge. Apart from that, Murray is just a great young bloke who was great company. I would highly recommend Murray & Aussie Fly Fisher to anyone thinking of a guided fishing trip.

The guys we had were amazing, learned a lot and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to fly fish/ learn to fly fish.

Josh took me for a day chasing Murray Cod, a notoriously difficult species to catch on fly. His enthusiasm and local knowledge were nothing short of magical. He gladly put in what was close to a 24 hour day without hesitation or hint of disgruntlement to ensure I left with an amazing photograph of my fish. I have no idea how he makes money from this, but I hope he carries on and I am very happy to recommend him as a guide. He's worth much more than he asks which is good news for you :-)

Having done most of my Fly Fishing in New Zealand, I was excited to try some new waters in The Blue Mountains, so I booked Aussie Fly Fisher for a day on the rivers. I knew the rivers would be smaller and therefore expected the fish to be smaller. Well I could not have been more wrong.Under the skilful guidance of Murray Stewart, probably the most enthusiastic and passionate guide I have had the privilege of spending time with, we came across a couple of feeding rainbows. After a few dodgy casts, which would have spooked less forgiving trout, a rather large Rainbow came from out of nowhere and took the fly before the other 2 had a chance. A few minutes later we had her in the net. Not only was she weighing in at the 4 pound mark, but happened to be the first tagged fish I had ever caught. A few quick photographs, tag info taken, a few measurements and we released her to make someone else happy another day.8 hours later we called it a day and to quote Josh “This gorgeous Blue Mountains brownie was one of 7 fish for Allan for the day.Sipping away on late afternoon Mayflies, and more than happy to consume a well presented Parachute Adams #14.”Thank you Josh and Murray for a day that is probably one of my best days fishing ever. You don’t often catch 7 trout while river fishing, let alone 5 in the 3-4.5 pound mark.

Over all the years and great folks you meet on fishing trips Josh Hutchins and his business Aussie Fly Fishing is one of the best. I met Josh in Mongolia last year and he invited me to join him in Argentina to fish for Golden Dorado. Josh was not only an incredible gracious host but one of the most talented photographers I know. He laid everything out on what to bring, scheduled the best time to be there for the fishing, and made sure that all the guys on the trip were set up and ready to go. I highly recommend Josh and Aussie Fly Fishing for your next great fishing adventure, I am already booked with him again for another trip.
