Hawkesbury Hospital Emergency Room

Most incapable rude staff and doctors don’t think people would care if this place went as they get you to wait in the emergency room for a few hours and send you back on your way

Absolutely terrible hospital. Not even worth 1 star. We went there with our infant about a year ago and had the worst experience one could ever imagine. After we left, we were told by Westmead Childrens we should’ve come straight to them as they get quite a bit of negative feedback about this hospital.I then spoke to the locals who said they wouldn’t even go there for a broken bone that’s how terrible it is there. It’s so sad that our local hospital is an absolute failure in the NSW Health system.Our experience was so bad we made an offical formal complaint that went to the top of the chain. We got an apology and they told us the staff would be spoken to and extensive training would be provided. They were literally googling and texting staff at Westmead for advice for how to deal with the emergency we were experiencing. Very discomforting. Not to mention leaving a newborn who was hysterical untreated for almost 5 hours. Shame on you.

Worst hospital EVER! sat there for over an hour just to see triage watching them take other people in before my 2 year old son. Finally seen triage and they took a urine sample and sent us back to wait in the waiting eoom. Waited 6 hours for them to tell us we will be in to see someone in 15 mins. Waited another 45 minutes and still never got in. We ended up leaving and they told us to follow up with the test results at our GP. They never sent our GP the test results so we had to call the hospital to get them and it turns out they didn't even do the test. Waste of time. And my son needed urgent attention! This hospital needs some serious fixing!!!!!

After being admitted to the emergency department of the hospital, my husband had been suffering from chest pains and after 5 hours, and 2 lots of blood tests… we were told that he was ok, and his heart was fine… well the next day he suffered a major heart attack… and there were obvious blocked arteries… thank goodness we went to another hospital… and he is getting better after 6 weeks… I phoned to tell the hospital, but on numerous occasions was put on hold… as I don’t want someone else to have to go through what we had to at Hawkesbury Hospital… avoid going there if you can!!!

I wish there was a ZERO star option!!! The long waiting time is not acceptable. Nurses or doctors need to learn how to prioritise the cases, instead of letting all non-urgent patients waiting without any hope. 5 hours waiting for 1 min treatment? I would rather being told to go home when i met the nurse at first place and rest with some panadol. Hopeless place. Shame on Aussie healthcare system! Be more efficient! For god sake!

So frustrating , I dropped some food for my in-law who just had a baby but was thrown away as i was told. The mom who had a baby was tempting for food all night. The next morning I went to inquire about it i was told that is not priority of emergency staff.Why to accept, the task if you care less for something, something that can be essential for patient.On top of that i lost my containers which was worth around 50 dollarsAggressive behaviour depends upon the staffs as well

Omg a big shout out to all the staff on Sunday night in emergency the care friendliness and knowledge of this fantastic team are beyond reproach please respect these beautiful human beings they have had a tough year and they are dedicated to looking after us so be nice to all our medical staff they deserve our respect. I wish I could give minus 10 stars.They do not care about patients and time!!! Keeping in waiting room for hours+hours!!!!

WORST HOSPITAL EVER!Not the first time ive had issues with them but todays had to of been the worst I was taken my ambulance and I could barely stand, walk or sit and even hurt to lay down I could see extra beds available yet I was told I was going in a wheelchair and put into the waiting room I decided to sign their form stating I was leaving the waiting time was anywhere between 2-5 hours and I did make comment that I am pregnant and something doesn’t feel right at all I’ve now left and was seen at another hospital within 15mins and have gotten a bed almost instantlyI wouldn’t even go there if I was on my death bed it’s disgusting that they can’t do anything right they have told me previously I had this wrong with me but wasn’t too bad I went to my doctor and was scheduled for emergency surgery but OFC Hawkesbury couldn’t find anything so so angry with themTHEY DESERVE TO BE SHUT DOWN

If I could rate it minus 5 I would, I attended the emergency department with my mother who was suffering acute pain, we were told we were in for a long wait as they were busy fair enough however staff had absolutely no care or compassion for any of the patients waiting to be seen, a man next to me was clearly suffering from severe pain, he was unable to speak and was sweating profusely, writhing in agony to my horror he was seen by triage and sent back to the waiting room, the poor man was suffering and it was distressing watching him, myself and other patients complained to triage and they continued saying we'll see him soon, his condition kept deteriorating, at one point another lady demanded that he be given his pain relief they said they'd give him 2 hours beforehand and still hadn't, finally a male nurse comes out and tells him he can go through the poor bloke wasn't helped up from the chair and the nurse adds insult to injury and muttered that there was a wheelchair behind the door if he needed it!Another poor elderly man collapsed in his wheelchair staff didn't notice until patients again alerted them, he'd accidentally wet himself when he collapsed , staff were told twice urine was on the floor and they didn't clean it up.The lady behind the desk taking patients details was referring them back to a medical centre she claimed was open for x rays on a public holiday, it was the same one we'd left that was not open! When I corrected her she thought it was amusing however some people had left to go there based on her incorrect information. Absolutely disgusting hospital.
