July 20, 2022So glad we went out of our way to visit Gordon Dam. It was awe-inspiring to say the least. An engineering feat to behold. I would most definitely advise anyone going to Tasmania put this on the 'to do list'. May not be the Hoover Dam but DAMN!

Very impressive construction - unfortunately the visitors access is limited to the top bridge of the dam.The waterline seems to be very low at this date, lots of dead trees along the shoreline have fallen dry.

A sight to behold. This is an amazing piece of engineering and absolutely breathtaking in sheer size and beauty. The drive in is stunning.Not a lot when you get there so take a packed lunch maybe.

Major tourist attraction. Sealed road takes you all the way. You can see the dam and the lake from the lookout or you can access the damn wall via stairs. Beware there are more than 100 stairs, and it does get a bit scary if you are scared of heights. They have toilets and parking. Good view and definitely worth a visit.

Very worth while trip out to see one of the remarkable eggshell" dam wall's.Do yourself a favour and take time to walk across and get the view from the other side

It's almost a 3-hour drive from Hobart. But it worthwhile. Heaps of good view while driving. And Gordon dam is breathtaking. I personally couldn't find a cafe and restaurant around there. So do get snacks from Hobart.

If visiting Russell falls we can visit this Dam which is an hour away . We can get down fron the stair case and walk on the dam. On the way to to the Dam we can check out tedds beach ( its basically a lake) for picnic tables, BBQ area.

The Gordon Dam is a sight to see. The dam wall between the gorges is amazing. You can walk down to the walkway across the top of the dam but the metal stairs down are very steep and then you've got to come back up the same way. Great photo opportunities await you.

Not much to say but worth the visit. A windy drive in through some wonderful scenery, with excellent view.Once there, a short 600m walk to the dam.Excellent spot for photography.
