Have been to this shop multiple times in that past few years and it’s always good! Delicious fish and chips, and great service! But I’m sad that the tabouli has been removed from the salad options, it was so good! Please bring it back- it was the perfect companion to deep fried goodies!

While the food here is very good and I love their grilled barramundi. I also order a hamburger with the lot with specific instructions for no sauce, no onion and no butter margarine and those instructions are frequently ignored. So if you have allergies or food intolerances be aware that they aren't as careful as they should be.

They do make a great old fashioned burger just how we like them and the size of the fish portions are quite generous.

So disappointing because we love their fish and chips. An incredible hour and 10 minutes wait to get 2 fish and chips and we only got our order when we chased it. When we did get our order the fish was so small (the size of a small plate. The store was full of customers I counted 16 people’s waiting too but online orders were being fulfilled first. Staff looked clueless, confused and in each others way. It’s obvious they were taking too many orders and telling people a 30 minute wait time which was a lie. No leadership whatsoever10/4/23In response to your reply such a shame you are behaving this way. You have got it wrong, you didn’t speak to me, I wasn’t rude, you didn’t tell me an hour, do you know why? I didn’t order my husband did and he wasn’t any of the things you have said either. Check your CCTV. My husband was told 30 minutes by the young boy on the till, of which we accepted because it was Easter Friday , as I’m sure the other 16 people understood. So you see you have the wrong person. Instead of coming back at me for an honest review do the right thing learn from this and take ownership.

I will never eat here again. Or recommend this business. I ordered our meal through Uber eats as I couldn’t drive. I asked for specific Gluten free items for myself and non gluten free for my family. The whole order arrived gluten free. The batter was so thick the potato cakes were not cooked through. The fish was thick and gluggy. The scollops had not been cleaned of the green poo like substance. This would have to be the worst meal I have ever ordered for a hefty $75 delivered. To make the matters worse I called to have this rectified and the owner was horrible and rude and not helpful. Told me to come pick the new order up. When I clearly couldn’t drive to get it. Then expected me to call Uber eats and re pay for the delivery. I’m super angry and will make it my mission to let everyone know how poor this service was.I’m disappointed because we ordered here often and the food has definitely gone down hill along with the customer service and attitude.Edit* nice to see the man I spoke to is responding to the review and lying to make it sound better for him. I recently ordered from main fish and chips through an app. We used to patron Sam’s old fish and chip shop, and since moving have been still in the habit of going there mostly because they have dedicated gluten free fryers.But now knowing main has gluten free offerings, we decided to order and weren’t disappointed. The fish was very fluffy/flaky, you can tell it’s really fresh and hasn’t been sitting around for a long time. The thickness of the flake was very good, and the fish is so white in the middle and not beige.Definitely the best fish and chips in eltham, and we will ordering from them exclusively in the future

Such an awesome fish and chip shop - the food is excellent, the fish are locally sourced, fantastic gluten free options on nearly every item, and very well priced.We always get friendly service too!

Placed a simple order was told 20 mins wait. I waited an hour. I'm sure they forgot to put my order on. People came and went with their orders after me and i was still waiting. Finally name called & no apology at all for the wait & order mucked up with dim sims they were fried not steamed. I understand they are busy thats why i phoned ahead not to have to wait long. Disappointed.

Had a HSP. Nice lamb (actually real lamb not that spamy stuff). Little pricey & chips were a bit floury otherwise 5 stars.
