Mount Magog
Magog is one of the harder hikes. The path is super gentle for the first 2kms as you cross the shrub area. It's at this point that the path jacks up and is very similar to Talyuberlup hike. At around 700m asl there is a campsite and a path that appears to link up with Talyuberlup via the ridge.Just after the campsite I was lucky enough to see 2 quokkas just off the trail. I could hardly believe my eyes. The summit you get to first isn't the real summit and you have to cross the rocky ridge to get to the real summit. The views to Talyuberlup are amazing.

This drive to this peak is a bit longer than most of the others but well worth it! It is a long walk on flat ground before steep scrambling, saw more wildlife here (birds, lizards) than anywhere else in the ranges.

Short sharp 3 hour walk. I had to use my hands few times to get up and down. Some trail markers have fallen over but we did not lose the path.

Nice gentle walk in, then a lot of rock scrambling. Absolutely awesome views from the summit. Worth the effort. A trail less traveled. Not in the wet and not really for young kids.

Sadly, we were out there searching for a missing person. Take care when visiting and stay on the trails.

It's a nice walk up to the mountain, about an hour or so. Then it's a steady climb up to the crest then a scramble to the peak. Lovely views!
