The Kitchen Strahan
Out of the scarce food options for our 3-night stay in Strahan, it was inevitable that we would have dinner at the Kitchen. So when I returned with our takeaway pizza, I was shocked to scroll past the countless negative reviews bombarding the small restaurant. What would've sent a chill down my spine was instead occupying my head with questions marks because my food experience was completely contrary to the status quo. Before seeing the reviews, we had already finished our Carnivore pizza and Greek salad with a lot of good things to say. The Greek salad is a non-traditional remix of the essentials and nutritious additions that screams Fresh!" in well with Tasmanian spirit. You can taste the whole rainbow in this single container

Great location with view over the harbour. Busy and food was served quickly. Chips were well cooked. So called 'fish of the day' was crumbed and completely flavourless served with a clump of limp lettuce. I agree with a previous reviewer, obviously frozen and overpriced for such a disappointing meal. Greek salad was $15 and very average 2/5 with hardly any feta cheese and an abundance of capsicum! So much promise and so much disappointment.

The breakfast here was actually very good - lovely fresh salmon and a range of options. A pity they don't offer oat milk for coffees. The lunch, was then a great disappointment. The pie was fine but did not come with any option salad etc. The fish and chips was perhaps the worst we've every had. Tough crumbs on the overcooked fish and chips not worth eating.

Located right in front of the waterfront in Strahan, Tasmania, The Kitchen offers breakfast food and classic Australian pastries. They have a lot of options of classic pies and rolls but also selections of salads and toasties (sandwiches). We ordered a few things such as their spinach roll and meat pie but we really enjoyed the chicken and cheese sandwich. Overall, The Kitchen is a convenient option for food if you are in the area.

I love pizza, I've eaten at probably over 500 places that have made pizzas in Melbourne Queensland and tassie, this pizza the carnivor that I ordered with bbq sauce base was in the top 2 pizzas I've ever had, it could probably be number 1. I need this recipe for when I go back to Melbourne so I can remake it and remember my time in tassie. (Also the wife had Hawaiian and it was delicious as well she enjoyed it)

We came for breakfast. The prices were reasonable. The rosti was very good. The ham and cheese croissant did not have enough cheese. It was also squashed dead flat in a sandwich press. I know many places do this, but it kills the texture of the croissant. It’s no longer soft and fluffy in the middle. It should be opened and placed on the grill to melt the cheese,

Good coffee. Shepard pies have a lot of breadcrumbs and are very dry and just warm enough, certainly not hot.

We have been here everyday whilst staying in Strahan and every time it has been fantastic. Warm greeting when arriving and friendly, fast service for food.We have tried the coffee numerous times, the bakery section and have ordered breakfast before the cruise. Each time could not be faulted.Prices very reasonable considering the amazing location showcasing the river and heritage of the area.
