The reception was so friendly and warm and the decor and atmosphere were lovely and pleasant. The staff were so professional, friendly and wonderfull. Verity of drinks and cocktails and nice one page food menu. Most of the items were delicious but my favourite was the potato, truffle and very thinly sliced prosciutto. Also loved the wood oven at the corner. Well done to the staff.

Finally went there for a meal last night with my wife and have a really nice time. We had heard about it from friends and it lived up to our expectations. Friendly service, nice environment, wood oven pizzas with pastas and other dishes available. Enjoyed the food and a couple of a nice reds. Will be back for sure.

Wonderful Surprise!I pedal up Greenhiil Rd early every Sunday - barely noticing Bar38 and haven't checked it outLast Thursday we were hungry after hammering climbs in the hills and felt like pizza so went to Bar38 just after it opened at 5pmWe were soon seated, enjoying well-priced, good beer and wineWe enjoyed Fungi and Margarita pizzas - perfect crust from a retro oven and generous toppings - delightful! The highlight was a wonderful dish of broccolini with brussel sprouts but I moved my phone, blurring the pic. The broc were perfect - the long stalks were tender, flavourful and had minimalist seasoning - a balance that I doubt could be improvedThere were lots of good choices on the menu - we're looking forward to our next visit!

Classy bar/pizzeria. Friendly service. The wood oven pizzas were thin in the centre, tasty toppings with a nice thick puffy outer ring sadly burnt black in places on both our pizzas. This doesn't occur if the pizza cook is paying attention to the cooking process especially towards the end . The whiskey selection was reasonable without being great enough to make me return...worth a try if you live close by but I would go to other eateries given the drive

I think we're blessed in Adelaide with lots of excellent artisan pizza options available, but IMHO, Bar 38 sits at the top of the list. Their bread is everything a pizza base should be: crispy exterior, light, fluffy and flavourful, paired with expertly matched topping. And their charcoal chicken wings are next-level good too! Throw in super-friendly staff and Bar 38 is now my go-to pizza restaurant. Good job!

The pizza was nice, the gluten free base was burnt (aren't the easiest to cook I'll acknowledge. The staff was very friendly but I'd have liked more frequent attention for table service. The cocktails were very nice. The food and cocktails were well priced. The bathrooms are shared amongst surrounding restaurants. I applaud the combo of toilet and basin for hand washing but both men's and women's had nothing to dry hands. Given staff would use the same facilities one wonders how this would effect hygiene. Two things that would have improved our experience would be the music, it was mostly 70s music and a volume counterintuitive for me to converse with my table.Lastly the beer, it's not on the menu and while the wait staff are happy to tell me the options I don't have pricing. Finally, I would have appreciated at least one craft beer (maybe mismatch session ale or a pirate life south coast pale ale would be my preference). This would mean I would revisit without spending lots on a night of cocktails in higher frequency than I plan to.I look forward to trying this place again soon, this place could be really special once they find the atmosphere they are trying to create.P.s. The pizza oven is beautiful.
