Service NSW

Rude unhelpful staff who struggle to understand what they are doing. Had prior phone advice from service NSW as well as the services NSW van but despite this the staff at Finley didn't want to listen.

Section 29(6) of the Road Transport Act 2013 No 18 states:If the Authority [Service NSW] receives information about a person from another driver licensing authority under a provision of a law of the other jurisdiction [another state] that corresponds to this section, the Authority must take the action it would have taken if the offence had been committed in this jurisdiction [in this state].The senior staff member at this service centre recently called me to tell me something that completely contradicted the above legislative information and what I had been told over the phone by another representative at Service NSW 2 months prior. It caused distress, which was amplified when she told me unsympathetically that I would have to go back into the service centre in a couple of weeks to do what I had already done 2 days prior (a 1-hour round trip; requiring a total investment of approx. 3 hours, if you include the time waiting and being served). The fact that my licence will have expired by then, meaning that I cannot drive there, only added fuel to the fire. But, as she made clear during our conversation, it is not her problem.I called Service NSW later that same day (afterhours) and spoke with a polite, smart, and professional representative from Newcastle, and he told me that I had been given the wrong information. What he said was congruent with what I had learnt a few months ago after scouring the web for information and speaking with representatives from VicRoads, a Victorian police station, Revenue NSW, and someone else from Service NSW (over the phone).The senior staff member at Finley is incompetent and ought to be replaced by someone who knows how to listen, solve problems, and give public service. I understand that recruiting such a person in a regional area presents a challenge, but this woman should not be in a problem-solving role. My situation is very obviously too complex for her to understand.

The staff was wonderful and the knew what was talking about and I only waited for 15 minutes.

Slow incompetent staff, who engage in personal conversations rather than serving customers, took 20 minutes to get a 3minute job done. It would literally be quicker to drive to the next branch of service NSW

Your service is appalling. Used to be great but is now non existent. Do a survey. Contact those who have been there over the last couple of months. Easier to go to the post office and pay to send details by mail. What the hell has happened . Protecting your jobs??

They have double standards!!!They denied my previous NSW licence (just transfered to Victoria 2 months ago) as a proof of identity beside my passport to proof (my two middle names), however, they used its expiry date as the expiry date for the new licence!!!
