A very special evening at The Chef’s Table with multiple intricately designed courses hand delivered & explained by Chef Wickens himself. Absolutely memorable evening & atmosphere. Thank you to everyone involved from farm to table. Highly recommend.

Wickens At The Royal Mail Hotel
Greatly enjoyed our dining experience. So much creativity with flavours and textures in every course from the initial canapés to the final rice pudding dessert. The dining room itself was fantastic - the ambience, lighting and background music made for a refined and sophisticated feel in a rugged nature setting. Service was incredibly attentive, yet not intrusive. A real credit to all.

Such a beautiful restaurant, food truly exquisite, service was just stunning and I loved the sommelier he was so enthusiastic it warmed my heart. The produce was local or home grown which impressed me and I couldn’t fault them on anything, but mostly I feel so welcomed and cared for.We stayed at the hotel I thoroughly recommend the packages, they are very good value!

What can I say about this restaurant that hadn’t already been said except to say it was the best dining experience I’ve ever had in my life (and I’ve eaten at many top restaurants). We booked the Chef’s Table and sat in the kitchen watching incredibly talented people pull together incredibly phenomenal dishes. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

We couldn't speak too highly of our recent dinner at Wickens restaurant. The food is simply outstanding. The mixture of fresh high quality ingredients, attention to detail, innovation and creativity provides a unique experience. The service was uniformly professional but friendly with perfect timing a particular feature. The legendary winelist complements the experience.

Service and presentation were stellar and impeccable, taste wise and execution, not quite there. Expected better. The views were amazing though and there was a good wine selection. The canapés platter was the first dish that set the pace but the rest of the courses fell short. Good use of native ingredients but I wasn't blown away.

Incredible dining experience, definitely the best I’ve had in Victoria. The detail and effort put in by the chefs and waiting staff show in the amazing quality of the food and overall experience. We were served 12 courses over a 3 hour session (well worth the money) and all were amazing encapsulating different flavours from the kitchen garden and local produce, definitely recommend trying the lamb. The wine selections and recommendations were also exceptional. If you’re after a weekend away to experience great food I highly recommend staying at the Royal Mail Hotel and booking a dinner at Wickens.

Great experience at Wickens. From our arrival to the end, we were please with everything. The vue is very nice sitting by the windows. An all open kitchen so we can see everyone working and the Chef is right in front of us. There is a Chef Table" that we could have access

Upon calling to make a reservation, we were disappointed to hear that the restaurant was fully booked for both lunch and dinner. However, upon arriving at the restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised to find plenty of free tables.The hanger steak was absolutely delectable - cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The lamb shoulder with pea sauce was equally tasty, and the strawberry tart was a delightful finish to the meal. I will say, they did cut the tart in half which felt a bit stingy. If the chef intended for the tart to be smaller - perhaps they could have made the portions a bit smaller to begin with.Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience at the Royal Mail. The service was impeccable ( except the reception on the phone) and the food was truly divine.
