Lake Ratzcastle Campsite

Lovely camping site maintained by the local Lions Club. Donations can be left in Goroke. There are two toilets for men and women each, and on solar powered shower. While we were there, there were always a couple other campers around. There's plenty of space! Be aware that there's a duck hunting season. Apparently it starts mid march this year. No rubbish bins, take your rubbish out with you. The lake is shallow and had water in it.

Limited water. Limited wood. Was busy when I was there. Good weekender or mid week stop over.

Great spot to stay. Thanks to the local guy in Goroke for suggesting us to come here . Lake is dry which is a shame for the area and for wildlife. But my 2 dogs could relax here and be off leash as only one other camper way over the other side of Lake bed. Flushing toilets bonus . Would advise to bring some firewood with you as not much wood on the ground to use. We found a small amount of debris to use. Great overnighter for us will do donation to Lions .

A good quiet camp site with lots of shade. Reasonable quantity of water at this time.

A lovely quiet spot to picnic or camp...plenty of space for rigs of all sizes and tents. Ablutions block.

Clean with space to park up. Toilet block and shower. No or little water in the lake.

What a great place to stop. It's quiet. Met all the boys from the local fishing club having a family get together at the club rooms there . My wife & I would highly recomend. Also the fishing is pretty good.

Nice quiet free camping. Pet friendly. Clean flushing toilets. Not much water in the lake. Please take your rubbish home with you.

We camped here for the night last week. There was only one other camper at the time. It's such a beautiful spot looking at the lake. We went for a drive around, and the views were amazing. On that drive, we saw 2 Emus running around, stumpy tail lizard .Later that night at camp, we were surrounded by thousands of little frogs! You had to watch your step at all times. In the tree opposite us, there was a tawny frog mouth owl doing his call. He did this for ages. Was pretty cool to see up close.Our Camp was a short walk to the flushing toilets. There was a shower that had cold water only. This place was really well looked after!We will definitely be back to stay and explore more.
