Great location, can walk to several wineries. Rooms very comfortable and pool was nice in the afternoon. The service especially at the front desk was exceptional, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend this place for a weekend away. We’ll be back, highly recommended.

After reading some pretty tough reviews about Mercure at Hunter Valley I thought I should leave my own!I stayed there with my little boy to see the Christmas Lights.I loved the fact that I could park my car right outside the room. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. The food from room service was hot and delicious and fairly priced. And we both enjoyed playing in the pool before an easy walk to the gardens to see the Christmas lights. The staff were very friendly and helpful.I would definitely stay there again.

Arrival here didn't start well. We arrived late afternoon as part of a group tour of over 30 people, and, when enquiring about an evening meal, were told that their restaurant was fully booked. It's not as if they didn't know we were coming, so it wasn't a good first impression. When we then went to our room, we found that the tap water wasn't running clear. When we explained this at reception they were very helpful in providing us with an alternative room. The hotel is built very much in a motel style with most of the rooms opening out externally onto the driveways and the reception, bar and restaurant in a central building. Rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. There was a good selection of hot and cold foods at breakfast.

I was a bit surprised how outdated the room and this hotel was in overall. There were so much dust, hairs on the floor and the bath tub.. Although service was great at the reception with professional yet friendly staff and it was convenient location to be nearby where we needed to go during our 3 days trip.

We only stayed for one night for a wedding, so really only slept there. Room was fine, staff were fine - no complaints at all. We left our expensive electric toothbrush in the room - HUGE thanks to staff member Sarah for physically going to the housekeeping room to see if it was there, and then to staff member Sharon for packing it so thoughtfully so it reached us safely. I was very impressed with their service. Not so much the gentleman I spoke to a few times before that who didn't seem very interested in helping me :(

Booked into the Mercure as wanted a last minute Easter getaway and despite high prices was able to redeem a free Accor night, which brought the cost down. Having stayed in big chain hotels outside the major cities, I wasn't expecting the Earth and other reviews were not exactly glowing. Things didn't get off to a great start when we attempted to check in and despite being an Accor customer and booking via their website, the hotel didn't appear to know anything about me and tried to charge me the full rate for my free night until I questioned it! Also, tried to get an early check-in, which I know is never guaranteed, but ended up going off and coming back after the advertised 2pm but still had to wait around for 10 minutes for reception to confirm our room had been cleaned! Staff were friendly enough but it wasn't a seamless experience. Hotel is obviously quite old and rooms are accessed via the car park (like a motel) but not without country charm. The rooms looked like they had last been decorated in the early 2000s in traditional style, but not too shabby. We had a nice comfortable king bed with a spa bath, which worked fine and a big smart TV with Netflix and all the apps, which was good. The room was clean but we did find several long hairs in the shower.Breakfast was included in our rate and was pretty good, with a full cooked and continental selection. Coffee machine was super slow and kept breaking down causing big queues on the first morning. Also most of the tables appeared to have bits of cutlery missing. Booked into hotel restaurant for the first night, it was convenient and okay but nothing to write home about. The Hunter Valley is full of much better places to eat for not much more money, so give it a miss unless you're really tired!Room was quiet and comfortable but on one day we returned late afternoon to find our room hadn't been cleaned, so called reception and they sent someone over to do a basic changeover and bring some more supplies. I got the impression staff were trying their best but perhaps short-staffed.Location is great for the nearby Brokenwood and Mcguigans wineries, as well as the Hunter Valley Gardens next door and plenty to do in the vicinity. All in all not bad but didn't feel like a 4.5 star experience.

The room was a little tired but what a bathroom, glass roof above the tub, which was huge.Nice pool and spa.Breakfast was a gas. I do love a pancake machine and decent pastries. The staff were really genuine and caring which more than made up for the room. I would stay again.

I would have loved to give this hotel a 5 star, here are three feedbacks.-Our electric jug was greasy.-There was no room service menu in the room or QR code, I was asked to walk to the reception to order. After a day of Wine Tour it really was the last thing I wanted to do so I just slept it off.-There was an issue with the room phone. The gentlemen on the other line could not hear me and was asked to ring the hotel using my mobile.Other than the above, the great thing about this hotel is the staff are friendly, the bed is very comfortable, the room itself is clean, buffet breakfast was fantastic. Overall we enjoyed our 2 day stay and we would stay in the hotel again.

Hotel is in need of a refurb. It has aged over the years and it definitely shows. Cobwebs on the ceiling in the bathroom, no window in bathroom for fresh air…however cockroaches still managed to get in! bed quilt smelt like foot odour!! Carpet smelt also. Uncomfortable mattress on bed. Very noisy- walls between rooms very thin….could hear neighbours! For the amount of money they charge, you would think you’d expect something nice. Won’t be going back.

Requested to change our room a few times as I didn't want an accessible room with no bath tub for our wedding anniversary, and even included this in initial booking request and by phone a week prior to arrival. Sink smelt like mould.Staff were helpful onsite despite the phone continuing to ring out at 8pm. There was luckily a mobile number provided.Breakfast buffet was very underwhelming especially in an area with so many wonderful options. Of all the accor properties we have stayed in, this has got to be one of the most basic offering. Coffee was OK.
