Beyond THE Fringe Hair Studio

I recently had my hair cut by James at Beyond the fringe and it may be the best hair cut I've ever had. Ever.A friend recommended BTF a little while back and I went to the website read the stylists' bios decided to give it a shot.As it turns out, James was lovely and I left the salon thrilled. He listened to me say more or less the same thing I've been saying to stylists since I moves to town three years ago. My hair is super fine and has a tendency to fall flat. I want it to be low maintenance. I'm willing to blow dry some of the time but it needs to look ok if I just pin it back or put it up as well. And I'm happy enough with what it's doing but since transitioning I feel like my hair is boring and dull and looks like it's totally without style. I want it to be more interesting without losing the tenuous hold I have on appearing professional.James is the first stylist who heard all that and pushed me just far enough out of my comfort zone that my hair is now gorgeous, stylish, and totally low maintenance. I have full bangs for the first time in my life and I'm totally in love.Thank you!Stella

I honestly love my hair cut today! I asked for a curtain bang style because I needed a glow up and my stylist James listened to everything I wanted. It wasn’t only about the hair cut I was in for but I also learned a few tricks with the hair dryer that I didn’t know about and James was kind enough to teach me. Overall, I was honestly impressed today and I came home feeling quite good about myself.

NEVER AGAIN!!! How they absolutely stuffed up my hair. I walked in wanting a trim to maintain a fabulous cut I had and the lady added heaps of layers starting from above my ears!!! I ended up with this bob looking thing with long bits underneath 'for length'. I looked like I belonged in an 80's sitcom. If you can imagine Carol Brady from the Brady bunch, that was me!!!! Horrific! I said to her that it looked awful and please to fix it, she kept hacking into my hair with no improvement until I said to her please stop

Nice experience and good service. Phoebe is very experienced and skilled, lower price than haircut in CBD but always good results.

The lead stylist, I believe his name is James, is full of his own importance. I said what I explicitly did not want done and why - he did it regardless because he thought it would 'look better'. I.e. do not cut my any of my hair shorter than my collar bone, I tie it up frequently - I need the length. Where did it end up - chin length. Not cool man, will not be returning.

Kind service but did not follow instructions. Would not recommend if you are getting a specific haircut done. I already had short hair and their haircut ruined my hairstyle.
