I am very glad to have found Underdog Training to help me and my dog Lila. When Lila became reactive to dogs and people, her world (and our world) became so much smaller. Tamara understands Lila’s struggles, as well as her strengths, and has gone above my expectations to ensure her training sessions are tailored to her needs. It has not been a quick fix, but Lila continues to progress with ongoing training and I’m proud of where she is today. Thanks to Tamara’s help we have gone from walking early/late and taking the back streets to avoid other dogs, to enjoying walking paths and the beach again, and doing group training (where again the Underdog team have helped Lila to get the most out of the time). Lila’s training has been a positive experience for both myself and Lila. I wish I had found Underdog Training sooner!

Underdog Training and Behaviour Consulting have been in our lives for many years training our Labradors and us! Group classes were invaluable not only for the training but also being able to socialise our dogs. The Trainers are amazing, so patient, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I was always amazed at the progress we made in the classes with my dog being able to behave in ways I thought would never happen.We have also had private lessons with Underdog Training and Behaviour Consulting where you can really hone in and concentrate on particular behaviour problems. These private lessons gave us more time to work on those problems but also enabled us to build our confidence in handing our dogs at home and in public.Training is ongoing and we continue to have lessons with our dogs from time to time. I highly recommend underdog training.Kobe absolutely loves his training walks with Rowena. He’s learning so much and has so much fun at the same time. Rowena is amazing, she has bonded so well with Kobe and I’m sure he would love her to come every day.I originally started with underdog for training walks when I was unable to walk Kobe myself due to surgery but have continued weekly because he loves it so much.Rowena always makes the training sessions so much fun, doing everything from scent work to agility and has unlocked many of Kobe’s hidden talents!Rowena is wonderful, very knowledgeable and always positive, we couldn’t be happier with how she trains Kobe.

Underdog training has provided excellent training for both our dogs in the puppy and novice classes. Olivia delivered each class so it was easy to understand and with enthusiasm making us eager to return the next week. I have been using Underdog for my dog training for over 12.5 years. With my first dog Missy who I rescued at 9months old I had no idea what I was doing and having Underdog come to my house, help me set up for a dog and introduced basic training. From there we went from beginners to advance Obedience and then onto Agility only just retiring after 12 years. My second rescue Coco came into the family and was much harder to settle in and train. Working with Underdog over the course of a year Coco got to the point where she could be let off lead and she too started agility which she continued until she passed. Recently I have a new puppy called Pearl and we had Tamara come to the house to ensure it was puppy proofed, we knew what to do with a puppy and training commenced. Pearl has a life ahead of her of obedience and Agility with Underdog and she is very lucky as they are great trainers, use positive training methods and really help me as the handler understand what each dog needed. Sandy was kind, informative and very clear with her training. It was amazing to see what she could achieve with our dogs in 1 hour. So wonderful to get follow up notes and access to daily dog training videos. Underdog is the only dog training company that has helped me train my anxious and reactive dog.

Underdog Training has been exceptional in teaching me how to better understand my nervous Kelpie X and become a better dog owner. We were first introduced 5 years ago, when I started Lucy in Underdogs’ Novice Agility classes. Lucy often ran away (literally) from things she found challenging (especially the weavers). To learn more, Lucy and I participated in Underdogs’ novice and elementary group obedience classes, and had a one-on-one session at home with Tamara. These sessions gave me invaluable insight, and skills that have allowed me to become a more effective handler, and Lucy a more confident pooch. We continue to participate in Advanced Agility, not just because it’s fun, but because Tamara fosters a positive and supportive group environment for people to work with their dogs.Also, to keep Lucy on her toes when I’m super busy, Lucy has weekly training walks with the wonderful Rowena. Rowena’s natural affinity with dogs was demonstrated in the speed she gained Lucy’s trust (more like adoration!) and in the confidence Lucy continues to gain. Rowena’s professionalism and dedication towards Lucy’s wellbeing has also made her become more part of the family, than our dog trainer. I could not recommend Tamara and her team at Underdog Training more highly. They put the welfare of the dog first, and do it with compassion, professionalism, dedication, and a smile. They’re worth their collective weight in gold!
