We were very pleased with the work Steve did for us. Before painting the bedroom, Steve successfully treated mould that had developed behind a chest of drawers. It had been caused by a leak in the roof into the wall cavity. His attention to detail means that the mould has not returned.Steve also did a good job in restoring the back deck. He was always thorough, prompt and tidy, leaving no mess.

I used Aurora Painters (when I was in Australia recently) and found Steve totally professional, polite and with an exceptional work ethic. His quote detailed the work he would do and that was what was provided to a very high standard. He was always at my house at the agreed time, and he took meticulous care with everything from protecting my floor and household effects to making sure he hadn’t missed a single spot he was painting. I first used Steve nearly 20 years ago for painting in my townhouse. He’s an extremely professional and very experienced Master Painter. What separates a good painter from a great painter is how much time they spend preparing the area for the job. Each time I’ve used Steve, he has never needed me to move much furniture, but has always worked around us to make the job minimum fuss. He has a great eye for detail, I’ve never found an errant hit mark in Steve’s work, and he always has helpful suggestions on ways to make the job look even better than you were after. On top of that, he is also really generous sharing his knowledge. Some really fiddley parts of painting our house he recommended that I paint myself if I was up for it to save some cash (like wardrobes with lots of shelves) and spent the time teaching me the best way to do the job. All these little value-adds have always made Steve my first go-to painter when I need something done. I just keep hoping he doesn’t plan on retiring each time my house comes up for painting! Keep it up Steve.

I'm writing this review after being pointed at the one with a clear case of mistaken identity posted a while ago. Steve took on a very hard job for me, which involved a significant amount of site preparation (flaking, unsealed ceilings). He was up-front in warning me about the limits of what he could do; but I could not be happier with the end result. He was meticulous in his timing and cleaning up. When I next need a painting job done, Steve Hopkins will be first on my contact list. I only hope that I can secure his services, given how busy he is with *other* highly satisfied clients!
