Australia Post - Balgowlah Post Shop

this is the worst au post office i been in australia. they are extremelly rude, avoid them

I’ve experienced bad service before but not quite like this place.Both my partner and I had arranged with our employers to finish work early to ensure we could make it to the post office (before it closed) to prove our identity for a property purchase.I literally was in shock at how rudely we were treated. We arrived at 20 minutes to 5pm to complete a process that we were told should only take 5-10 minutes. The staff were slow, taking their time (whilst clock watching) and when we were finally served proceeded to tell us “too bad” as it was 4:50pm by the time we were served and told “we don’t work overtime”.For a government service it’s absolutely appalling to have to be subject to such low grade service. I will be taking the matter further.

I visit this Post Shop at least twice a week, as I run and operate a small online business. The staff has been incredibly helpful and patient, they are always willing to go the extra mile and always with a smile on their faces. I'm forever grateful for their hard work.

The staff are very good but the post office is simply not big enough for the area it serves and so there are always very long linesBalgowlah heights has a post office too which never has long lines so recommend going there if you canThey need to increase the number of counters at this one by at least 2x

I read a lot of the very negative reviews against this PO so I went there today with some trepidation. I have to say that my experience was very positive. I had what I thought was a relatively complicated transaction but no really big deal. It turned into something more complex and requiring more time and attention - genuine, it WAS more complicated than I thought. The staff were all very helpful and patient, knowledgeable about what was needed, gave good suggestions to get around some of the issues and solved the problem. Spent all the time with me that was needed without rushing me. Spoke to me very politely, even friendly. It's a small office and there was a queue but they dealt with me and gave my issue the attention that was needed. I definitely do not have any complaints - in fact far from it.

Was waiting all day at home for my international parcel, no one ever rang the door bell. Checked my tracking and realized it was “undelivered” due to “no one at home”. Found the collection card in my mail box and now have to travel from Manly to Balgowlah to collect my parcel which I paid a premium international delivery fee for. This always happens with Australia Post! It’s so annoying and frustrating!

I live locally to Balgowlah Post Office and have been going there for years. The staff are VERY good at their jobs, they're competent and handle the situation well. BUT the real problem is this post office is now too small for the area (especially now with Covid), there are only two people serving customers, such as those applying / renewing passports (that takes a long time) and its usually very congested there. The problem isn't the staff, its that the post office needs a larger building and more staff to meet the demand.

Every time something gets send to this Australia post office, I have to collect in person.There is always someone at home and they never deliver it.

Went to collect a parcel, because the postie never knocks or rings my bell. First time I went, they were closed so the staff can have lunch. Then I go again, and they refuse to serve me because I wasn't wearing a mask (I can't wear a mask for health reasons), saying they would get fined. This is incorrect. The individual would get fined by police if they weren't satisfied that I didn't have a health condition, not the business. Australia Post enforcing rules incorrectly is a disgrace. Very rude staff, who don't know what they're talking about.

It generally takes about 2-3 trips to this post office for them to actually find a parcel that’s sitting there. I don’t know what sort of dogs breakfast your system is for holding parcels but it sucks or perhaps your staff need training on how your system for holding parcels works. This happens regularly and it’s so frustrating as I can only make it there on Saturdays to collect.
