Spacious skating rink conveniently located in Macquarie Center. Cost $25 per kid with skate hire. Skates are quite dated and badly needs a replacement. My kids complain of feet getting bruised wearing them. Better bring your own skate and save money on the entry fee. Overall a nice experience for kids and time pass.

Great view of the ice rink from the food court and has great natural lighting. Large area to skate in and quick process of buying tickets.Has school holiday sessions, public sessions, and cheaper sessions.

Whilst I haven't skated here, the ice hockey events are a lot of fun and highly recommended. If you are unfamiliar, it's worth looking up a quick YouTube video on the rules first! Local teams are the ice dogs and the sydney bears. Full bar and merch stand inside the arena. Buses stop just outside the macquarie centre so easy to access from CBD

Took my daughter for her first ice skating adventure and wow had one of the best experiences. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Adviced us what we need to do or look for as a first timer. Without a doubt it's a must try for everyone who are looking for some fun.

Fun place to skate. Went for a Friday night disco with the in-house DJ pumping out tunes loud. Plenty of rental skates and seating. Spectators usually free to enter.

Macquarie Ice Rink is a fantastic experience for all ages. When you arrive, you'll notice that purchasing tickets is straightforward. When you get your skates its not hard to get the wrong size and the skates are all in good condition. There are lockers available, but you can essentially leave your stuff anywhere and it should be fine. Overall, a wonderful experience that I definitely do again.

It's nice to see there are still a couple of ice rinks standing in Sydney. Shame they charge you 25 dollars for a 2hr session so packed you can hardly move on the ice, and the skate hire has you using the dodgiest slimiest most disgusting skates with varying ailments to each individual set of skates hired The night skate session should have a minimum age restriction since the little ones are on the ice during the day, kind of like how the adult movies are on at night for the adults.

this place always brings us so much joy, the ice is always great, the atmosphere is lovely and calm. the place could use a bit of a revamp but it’s that old smell that reminds you of being ten that I kinda love

I may be a bit bias because MIR is my home rink and I'm a member of the ice hockey club.PRO's:- There are regular skating times throughout the week.- Family friendly and will can host kids parties and have penguins available for hire to assist as a skating aid.- Multiple clubs available including figure skating, speed skating and ice hockey.- Access to the carpark directly outside the entrance.- Has a 4hr public session available on Sundays.- Friday disco nights are worth checking out (especially in groups for young adults and teens. Thank me later).- Can be viewed from the food court.CON's:- Experienced skaters may find the ice to be a bit rough and soft during public skating sessions due to the popularity and number of people that use the facility.- Painted lines are faded (exclusive to hockey players).- The canteen is out of service, so no food or drinks.- The carpark directly outside the rink tends to get full during peak hours but the rink is still accessible from other carparks, you just have to walk through the shopping centre.- There are large windows which slightly melt the ice on one side of the rink, on extra hot days.- Can be viewed from the food court (if you're shy).As a side note, there are plans for a new rink to be built at the same location, within the coming years. So be ready for a more modern rink in the near future.
