Sew Chic Alterations

Sew Chic did an amazing job with my wedding dress. She was so lovely and listened to what I wanted and alleviated my worries after a not so great experience at the first place I went to!She took the time to listen and welcomed me back for a second fitting at short notice because I was so unsure! I was extremely happy with the final product and so appreciative of her hard work.

While searching on the net for an alteration shop to add sleeves to my bridesmaids dress for my sisters wedding in a few months time l came across Sew Chic and l am so glad l did. Azad greeted my sister and I so welcoming and gave her professional opinion of what would look and work best for the style of the dress. The final product turned out exactly how l wished it would. I can understand why Azad and her team have been in the dress making business for decades, her work is outstanding. Azad is highly skilled and has great attention to detail. Anything l ever need altered or created l know where to go. Thank you again!

Just had my wedding dress altered with Azad. The alterations were complicated and on a tight time frame, Azad was so professional, giving great advice and fitting my dress perfectly in such short notice. I would highly recommend anyone looking for alterations, especially for a special occasion to visit :)

Overall a very disappointing experience.I went to her shop on two occasions for wedding dress alterations. On both occasions I felt she over quoted me and refused to alter the dresses the way they needed to be.On the first occasion I attended with a wedding dress that was too small, I asked for her opinion and advice about what alternations could be done. She advised that any alterations would start around $2,000 and it would be cheaper for me to buy a new wedding dress.So I listened to her advice and purchased a new wedding dress. I then attended her shop on a second occasion with the new dress. I asked her to shorten the dress - she said it didn’t need to be shortened. Even though I couldn’t walk in it the way it was. She said I just need to pick it up to walk. I asked for the sleeves of the dress to be sewn on and taken in. The armholes also needed to be shortened. The bust also needed to be covered with lace from the dress. These 4-5 alterations came to a staggering $1,200. Almost as much as it was to alter my original wedding dress.After a few phone calls I located a wedding dress alterations shop who were able to do all of the above including shortening the dress to the appropriate length for $350.Azid is very nice and appears like she wants to help but perhaps she is too busy to accept new jobs and therefore MASSIVELY OVER QUOTES.

Azad is a miracle worker! I took a dress for a wedding in last week that was very delicate with beading and sequins which needed hemming and also having the lining shortened, and she did a fantastic job, even discussing what lengths would work best for each section.A week later when I picked up the above, I also took a dress in that I needed emergency hemmed the day before a different wedding, and she fit me in, did a better finish on the hem than the original hem and even though I needed a 24 hour turnaround, it was ready earlier than expected. The craftsmanship is spectacular and she is so lovely! Highly recommend.

I had some dresses in my wardrobe that I loved but was not wearing. So before donating to charity shop I decided to look into having them altered. I went to Sew Chic due to it’s amazing reviews. I took in one at a time and each time was given honest advice on the changes I wished to have made. We discussed what was possible for the cut of the dress as well as what style suited me. Azad helped me when no other bridal alterations company would. My dress came in 2 parts and she combined them effortlessly. She is extremely talented, professional and understanding. She provided honest recommendations and told me straight up that certain things would not work. My mum also got her dress altered here. I have no hesitations recommending Azad to any soon-to-be brides, family and friends.
