An owner who doesn't know how to respect others, an owner who is racist. an owner who is neurotic. My good mood was destroyed by this owner. From the first day I came in, she started to make trouble for me. My slippers make some noise, because water would enter the slippers in the shower. She is also good at turning right and wrong into black and white and an a gossip women. I booked 4 nights, but I can’t stay any longer. For my dignity, I choose to leave. I've never been insulted like this by anyone, I'm Asian and I asked the owner, is it my race related to your attitude? She said yes. I thought the owner was just a strict but kind person, but I found out I was wrong. But I still thank you, you are really a mean and uneducated Cleaner.

It was neat, tidy and well organised. The manager was very helpful. However the manager could lighten up a bit. For example, is it appropriate to chide someone for not answering their phone after 3 rings (in the daytime btw)? I observed many other instances of over-monitoring of people's behaviour and I thought some of the rules were unreasonable.

What a sweet pea Debbie is! She had everything organised, even calling me before I arrived to make sure I knew about and had booked the cheapest way in from the airport. This is by far and away the cleanest hostel I have ever stayed in (and I've stayed in loads), and no question or favour was too much to ask of Debbie. She even sent me back my sleeping kit which I left by mistake, and refused to accept any money for the postage. 10 minute walk to pubs, restaurants and groceries, and some have discounts for guests of the YHA. 5 stars, definitely recommend.

Why you would stay anywhere else is beyond me. Better than staying in a 5 star hotel. Deb is such a great person to deal with & nothing is a bother& helpfull beyond words. It was like I've known her for years. Highly recommend you stay there. Thanks so much Deb.

A bit late in reviewing YHA Port Lincoln - I stayed here in 2015 but the memories are still indeed fresh! This is a wonderful hostel that makes for easy scheduling with local shark diving excursions (e.g. Calypso Star Charters).

LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS! THEY ARE TRUE.. Place is spacious and clean, however we felt pushed out on our check out day. We asked to leave our bags in the baggage room when doing our tour but was refused, we asked to have a shower as we had a 5 hour drive & would have been out at sea all morning. Was also refused. Owner got a little nasty and wanted us out the property. Other guests also felt the same way and tried to stay out of the way from Debi. This ruined our experience staying here & wanted to leave.Place is clean but you feel like you can’t touch or move anything because she is on you. Wanted a relaxing stay but felt watched & like we were getting told off for not doing something to ‘their standard’

The owner named Debby is just awesome. She's sweet, humble and a fun person. She will take great care of you and also help in seeing some beautiful and wonderful places which only a local human can tell you, and not internet !Do select YHA for a good, affordable and worthy stay.
