Ivan Evans Walk
The first part has a lot of very steep section that are very exhausting to climb up. Then you walk for a while on a road before following a small path through forest with another steep descent at the end. A pretty cool lookout with a view over Cairns and to the south, but apart from that I would not really recommend the track. It takes a long time (probably 4-6 hrs), is sometimes very steep and exhausting and not a very beautiful track (e.g. walking on the street and past power poles).

Amazing rainforest walk that never seems to end. It is quite steep at times but so worth exploring. Be careful especially during the wet season as the ground can be slippery. There is a nice lookout (with a bench) at the summit, but the route doesn't end there. You can continue walking through the rainforest from the summit.

Beautiful and a decent workout! The top is NOT where the pine railing is... keep going where the track gets steep ands leafy...then it plateaus for a bit and rises again till you get to the ladders up the trees for a view

Do it..take water and you'll feel great for it. Oh the walk offers two options. The easiest walk that will suit moderately fit people loops back to Toogood Rd. About halfway through the loop, there's a turn off to the left that follows a spur right up the mountain. It's hard going but an excellent walk for the fit.

Great walking track! Dog friendly, but it can get narrow in sections. Naturally it's slippery when wet. Lookout is 750m from the Ellen close entrance

The walk to the lookout is fairly easy. The signs on this track are few. There is a mud map stuck on a tree at the lookout to show you where the track goes to ( thanks Lars ). The track becomes very steep. Not enjoyable for me. I went a further 200m from lookout and gave up.
