State Records is a great place to visit. But don't forget to book a spot before you go.

What you would expect from an archive - shelves full of microfiche and books, original records available by request in the reading room. An invaluable resource for historical research, the reading room has free access to microfiche scanners and high quality cameras to copy documents. Staff are incredibly helpful and happy to devote extensive efforts to help.

Lots of people come here when they're researching their family history. The reading room is very popular. There's off-street parking here. Buses from Mount Druitt and Penrith train stations stop outside this facility. The staff at the NSW State Archives are very helpful. There is no cafe or kiosk here, but there is a kitchen located on level 1 which the public can use. Bags are not allowed inside the Reading Room - you can leave the bags in the room on level 1 - the NSW State Archives supplies lockers that take a $2 coin as a deposit.

The staff were very helpful. It was a busy day - they could have used an extra person assisting. Can't fault the effort and commitment of the front counter staff.
