We first met JM when she was recommended to help design our bathroom renovation/ remodel. From the get go, she listened to our needs and came up with a practical and stunning design ideas which far exceeded our hopes and expectations. We were so impressed with the ease of process and results that we contacted her again when wanting to renovate our kitchen and dining space. I cannot recommend Jan-Marie highly enough. When we purchased our new house we knew it had great bones but we didn’t have the time to create what we needed, a sanctuary. So after waiting a year, I went in search of help and found Jan-Marie from JM Interior Design Studio. Jan-Marie oversaw the renovation of the Kitchen and living areas, and she sourced all the furniture. Her expertise and practical knowledge of the process was invaluable, right down to small details so it all worked beautifully together, including installing feature lighting that we love. Jan-Marie made the whole process easy.

Changed our world"We built our home 30 years ago and have only made standard upgrades over the years. We are now moving into our retirement years and it was long over due to do something in our main living space. We decided we needed an expert interior designer. I did a google search and found Jan-Marie Jaillei (JM) / Interior Architect. I emailed her including photos of our space. She was at our house within the week. She walked in to our home with her beaming smile and certainly not a oh god look on her face with the clutter she was confronted with! She complimented us on our home she said' I love the feel of this home I feel like I'm in an American Texan ranch home - (we love the rustic look of our home).I have a lot of art work I wanted to display 'that was our brief' and she followed up with "yes you certainly have some beautiful pieces". She had brought with her some examples of how things could look. She gave us advice on colours to paint the walls to make our art work pop but most of all she said "you need to declutter" as she said in her very kind and not judgmental tone! And wow was she right! It was the best consult we could have asked for - her 30 years of experience and knowledge was exemplary.We engaged North Joinery to build custom wall units to provide storage space and to display our ceramic art work. North Joinery workmanship is outstanding and we have very high standards. The quality of the fabrication and install was number 1. To say she has talent is an understatement, she truly cares about her clients and will enter your home, ready to share your vision. One of her most admirable traits is how humble she is. As first homeowners we had a very modest budget, yet this never concerned Jan-Marie. She was just as happy to make it work for us and together we created a beautiful home we could never have dreamed of, without her guidance.
