Moana Hall

We had our wedding reception at Moana Hall in early September and had a wonderful experience! The venue itself is beautiful and we had so many comments from guests on the night. Cheyne and Cas were great in the lead up to the event and went out of their way on the night to ensure everything ran smoothly. We also utilised the on-the-day coordination service which was worth its weight in gold! All we had to do was share the details of our vendors and the team at Moana Hall ensured that everything was where it needed to be. We would happily recommend this beautiful venue to anybody planning a special event. Thank you to the whole team at Moana Hall who helped make the night special!

This post is in no way to deter future customers from considering the use of Moana Hall as the owner, his staff and their service is fantastic. However, I do believe customers and service providers need to be aware of the logistical issues with this venue and its location. Service Providers may be reluctant to provide services at this venue or they will inflate their prices for the inconvenience or the need for additional manpower.I have DJ'd at this location 3 times in 2 years and the following issues are apparent:1. Bump in is only at 5pm - service providers would like to option to use off peak times to deliver equipment but terms are strict.2. 30 minutes after the customer leaves or up to12:30am is given for bump out for service providers.3. Storing equipment for pick up the next day is at the discretion of Moana hall management. If equipment needs to be picked up at midnight, customers please ensure you're prepared to pay the labour cost.4. There is limited parking and no loading docks. Loading bays are available on hay street/barrack but on weekdays and weeknights up to 6pm. The City of Perth may at their discretion place no stopping signs affecting the loading bays and parking generally. Closest parking is up to 500m away from Moana Hall so a few trips back and forth to Moana Hall will be needed so allow at least an hours for unloading and loading.5. You must apply for a City of Perth permit at least 14 days prior to the event to pull up or access the hay street mall or the traffic lights at barrack street/hay street to avoid an infringement.6 Moana Hall only allows contact by email, no mobile and land line contact is available making it extremely difficult to discuss logistical problems.7. There is no air conditioning so equipment can get warm especially in summer so consider taking a small fan for the booth.8. Elevator is small therefore PA equipment tables etc may need to be lifted up a flight of stairs.I hope this is of assistance to you all.

Standing room. Not much seats. Nice atmosphere. Need a coat of paint. A bit dark during daytime for photos Less you are a fan of flash photography.

The place is nicely renovated and looks superb. The batch brew is a MUST try! It tasted really good 10/10. I think this will become my new camp site haha. The staff are awesome and friendly. I highly recommend Moana Hall!

Historic Perth Iconic 1908 Building in the Hay Street Mall began as Moana Cafe now a Venue destination. Moana Hall with all it's beautiful hard wood features, stoic 3 staircases, historic information displays, amazing featured arches and high ceilings is a breathtaking glimpse into Perth's beginnings. It's a must see destination and a beautiful setting for a special gathering for any event..

The heritage features of Moana Hall are stunning and a great feature for any high class event. The staff were helpful in answering questions and helping to work through all the details. The guests at my event were blown away at this gem of a venue hidden away in the heart of the city. Simply stunning!

We recently celebrated our engagement party at Moana Hall and we were so happy that we did! The venue itself is stunning and comfortably fit our 80 guests (cocktail style). The months prior to the event planning it went smoothly and Cheyne & Cas helped us with any questions we had. We kept decor simple and they have everything we needed on site in terms of chairs/tables, and we could bring in extra party lighting for ambience. Ample space at the back for caterers (although not a true kitchen so food prep to be done off-site, and brought in hot boxes), but that worked out fine for finger food. Easy to access but private location, would highly recommend!

Gorgeous venue.On the day coordinators however are extremely rude and management doesn't reply to emails when we take the time to send feedback so that he is aware of their attitude. Leaves a bad impression and sours the memory of the night, as other reviews have said.

What a venue!!! The space is so beautiful and Cheyne was a pleasure to deal with. We had such a fun time at Moana and can't thank you enough ... they say you only get married once but I'd do it again at Moana if I could :)
