Quiet, clean and relaxing.

Beautiful, quiet, clean. We arrived and was blessed with our usual spot. Lucky I guess. Kookaburras morning and night. Few fish, lots of snags. Certainly takes me back to my youth when my brother and I played here for hours on end. Serenity. Beware the falling trees. Unfortunately as of the 3rd week of March, Plushs Bend will become a paid camp site. Booking required and $10 per night. Hogwash Bend or Overland Corner will now be our new camping areas. Spend our money in other towns. Very disappointing, as have loved coming here for years.

A free, 72 hour rest area for self-contained vehicles and tents a few km outside of Renmark with shaded gravel/dirt flat camping areas adjacent to the Murray River and some facilities.Time and Cost: Free camp (72 hours +).Access: a few km off Sturt Highway with 2 or 3 km of dirt road to camping area.Facilities: flat gravel/dirt camping areas (some numbered) alongside the river with plenty of shade. Toilet block and bins but no potable water or dump point.Ambiance: quiet, serene and shaded. Fires allowed.An excellent free camping area. The Murray River setting is beautiful and peaceful.

Absolutely brilliant stayed here 3yrs ago and again this year 2021. It's great you have to book a site now $10pn is bloody brilliant, you get huge sites and don't have vans on top of each other. Beautiful part of the mighty Murray and only 8km out of town. Only has drop toilets up far end. Be self contained and help look after this great place. Pet friendly

Free camp about to become a book and pay very popular and nice spot

$10 per night, pre book on line, must be self containedWe stayed 2 nights in site 13Easy to level up, big site, dusty ground, access to river via reeds, shaded which would be good in high temps but we had overcast days so no solar input via the van. Toilet block within walking distance.Great location to explore the local area.

Several sites inaccessible due to recent rains & high river levels.No rubbish bins let alone recycle bins, just a large rusty skip with seized lid.Toilet block has a problem with spider webs and caution is needed.Martin's Bend at Berri ($5), Graham Claxton Reserve at Cadell ($10) have similar river front camping, rubbish bins, electric BBQs, shelters and are much better maintained.If the Renmark Paringa Council is going to charge a fee, at least they could put something back towards maintaining it in a safe & environmentally friendly way.

It is a lovely spot - I have only passed through. However now they have restricted this place to completely exclude those with tents, campers on some sites and other forms of camping besides caravans. Thanks for that. I am assuming this is due to the potential for grey water entering the river. Couple of points to make here. Those in campers usually don't have showers - if they do perhaps just make a rule that no portable showers are to be used on site. Dishes that need to be done - contain dishwater in a bucket and perhaps pour it onto plants away from the river. Better to reuse straight away than put perfectly good water into a disposal point. There is no law against pouring water onto ground providing there is no waste and it doesn't end up in the river. These rules should be revisited.

Great camping area. Take home what you bring in and maybe it will stay free.
