Mount Ngungun

Fairly easy 2.4km return walk/hike. Brilliant views.

Easy hike. Well maintained. At the top the 360 views of the glasshouse mountains and surrounding areas is spectacular. Bit of rocky scramble at the top. Good idea to wear trail shoes for grip.No public toilets at starting point/car park but 1 about 5min/3km away 11 Bruce Parade, Glass House Mountains QLD 4518

Located around glass house mountain. It is around 1.5 hours drive from Brisbane city.There is plenty of parking space down the hiking tracks.If you are looking for a challenging hike, this might not be for you, but the view at the top is stunning. There are people waiting for the sunset. The hike is around 20mins to the top, depending on the speed. But it won't be up to one hour even if you are slow.At the top the stone can be very steep and there is no safety rope there. So be very careful when you are at the top.The track is easy and well maintained. Just follow the path and you will be at the top.Overall it is worth the view. Recommended!

Great view! I love the hike all the way up to the summit. It's just a short walk with a clearly marked trail.

Have done a few of the glasshouse tracks and thought I'd give this one a go. The cave is interesting and it wasn't a total loss but I wouldn't go back. Went on a Monday afternoon thinking it'd be quiet but was wrong, it was packed. The views from the top weren't as good as the other mountains, some people have posted zoomed in pics which makes it look better. I was hoping to get into nature and recharge like on the other tracks but couldn't look around much on the way up or down because the path is rocky steps and also because of the amount of people there. It didn't have the usual chill, friendly vibe of the other tracks either, just busy and noisy.I think it's attracting a lot of people because it's got a rep for being easy which in turn is probably attracting a different kind of crowd.If you are after an easy walk where you can take in the plants and animals, I'd recommend the Tibrogargan round circuit. If you want pretty summit views and an easy walk (paved, not as much nature) Wild Horse mountain has better views than Ngungun.Btw, Ngungun has no facilities if you're looking for somewhere to have a picnic or with loos.

Spectacular view. Easy climb for any age.

Stunning summit especially for sunrise or sunset.We hiked this summit for sunset and it was spectacular.Grade 4 walking track but it is actually pretty easy and short. If you are fit, you can manage to get to the top within 30 mins. Took us around 35-40 mins with breaks in between for photos during the hike.Try not to hike up mt Ngungun after sunset especially during winter time as it get dark pretty quickly and it can be dangerous. A headlight would be helpful to go down from the summit after sunset.Overall, definitely a must if you are in the hinterland region, sunshine coast!

Amazing view from the top! Fairly easy walk but quite a few steps and a bit rocky in places.

Relatively easy uphill walk to the summit with some stunning views of the Glass House Mountains at the top, and well worth the walk.It takes about 45 minutes up at a leisurely pace and 30 minutes to descend towards the car park. Lots of shade, although limited at the top of course. A very mild scramble at the top, and an open cave to view along the way. There were lots of butterflies at the summit when we visited (Jan), and the walk was relatively busy during peak morning.Parking available near the start point at the base of the walk, although gets full quite quickly.
