Camberwell Sewing Centre

I ordered a product online. What I received was inferior and totally different. They could have told me the item was out of stock but instead sent me an inferior product with no receipt included. One star is too many.

Great when you purchase. Poor when you need something repaired or serviced. They fail to mention they're closed for multiple weeks anywhere, or even change their phone message. After requiring assistance to load my machine I I to the car, driving 2 hours to drop it off, 2 hours home, I feel ripped off. For a two month old machine, I'm furious at this service.

I love the new store and the team that work there are friendly, knowledgeable, the store looks absolutely fabulous.I had an issue with my Bernina and had been back a few times with the previous owner. I wasn’t happy with the time the previous owner had taken to fix it or the communication about what was going on.My experience with a warranty repair was amazing with the new store, the communication was great and they put me in touch with the Bernina rep who was also really helpful. I’m so happy with the new team and store. I was thinking about taking my business elsewhere but can’t imagine going anywhere else now. Thank you.

Fantastic and wonderful service by all the staff at Camberwell Sewing Center. The highly talented and gifted staff very helpful, very knowledgeable and provide excellent service in machine demonstration, customer service. The reviewer mentioning about alterations , just to clarify, camberwell sewing center do not do alterations .. Overall I feel the friendly staff, , extremely helpful and once again provide excellent service . Highly recommended ..

Wonderful customer service - Frances made the time to listen and use her considerable expertise to trouble-shoot the problem in-store, no need to send my old Janome to the technician after all. All done with patience, perseverance and a smile! Thank you Frances and Camberwell Sewing Centre! Lynda

I wanted to love this place. The staff were friendly when I arrived and I love supporting small local businesses (we're recent transplants to the area). However the total lack of customer service I have experienced has made that impossible.I left my machine with this store over five weeks ago. I was told it would take ten days to service. I advised I needed it to make my daughters Princess dress for her birthday (I'd left a month as a buffer to ensure I'd have time to complete it).After waiting for three weeks for someone to contact me; I phoned to be told it was being taken to another service agent who specialised in Pfaff machines and they would get back to me in a couple of days.They didn't contact me and have not replied to any of my numerous calls or messages.They also failed to advise me that they were closing for a number of weeks due to the move.My daughters birthday has come and gone,I have yet to be contacted, and I still don't have my machine.At this point, I'm considering taking action with the ACCC.

I delivered my sewing machine to be serviced, and after long time it was fixed, so I collected it. I assumed it was working well when I collected it, but it was worse than when I dropped it off, making clunking noises and running roughly. It was smooth and good prior to the service, and I contacted them about this. I was told to return it, so I dropped it off and they called back saying there was noting wrong with it. I went to collect it, and asked them to run it. There was a clear rough and clunking noise when it was used, and the women said that was because it was old. They were quite rude and dismissive, even though I have paid $250 for the service. I took the machine, as I needed someone to fix it properly after what had happened to it, and they said they would look into giving me a refund. They didn't contact me , nor have answered the emails I have set them. I would like the money returned as soon as possible so I can pay for a service to fix what was done to make it worse than when I dropped it off initially.

I'm Looking forward to meeting the new owners, I hope we can work together proactively. I have purchased all my Bernina sewing machines from the Camberwell sewing centre. (I've spent a small fortune) I will miss Pat dearly. I hope the new owners have retained some of the original staff especially Frances who I value highly!!!!

What a beautifully presented shop, with helpful and knowledgeable staff. I will definitely return to purchase some more Liberty & Michael Millar fabrics soon. The new owners are great, well worth a visit if you are looking to buy a new sewing machine.
