David's Cakes

Went to David’s cakes and purchased a vegemite cheese scroll and two doughnuts. The shocking part was when we went to eat the donuts, a bug was on the bottom of them.

Wonderful. Great place for a coffee and pastry. Topping bakery products.

My go to morning coffee and croissant for the last couple of years. A great team of friendly ladies who make the morning coffee trip enjoyable. Highly recommended on the bread, pastries and pies!

The birthday cake itself was okay, and reasonably priced, but the strawberries and icing on the top had a strong chemical taste, which I suspect was some sort of preservative spray to keep the strawberries looking fresh. It really ruined the cake unfortunately.

Most of the time, the cakes and pies are very nice. You have to make careful choices - the croissants are nothing to rave about when compared with the Vietnamese bakeries and nor are the donuts. However, their baked custard tarts are delicious and so are the almond berry tarts. The quiches and pies are also quite tasty. However, the big drawback for me is the coffee. It is very hit and miss and really depends on who is making it. For example, I always ask for extra hot and often get it at the same lukewarm temperature that seems to be their default style. Additionally, very often, the cup is not even full. Polite complaints don't get you very far. I have been so disappointed, so often, by this, that I now go to Rossis or even Chicken and Salt next door because they listen to what I want. There are a couple of staff members at this bakery who seem quite disinterested in serving their customers. although I will say that the young girls who work there are lovely.

Be warned for a price shock. No obvious pricing labels to be seen on anything.Ordered 6 donuts and lady said 15. $15 for 6 cinnamon donuts! They better taste good.In hindsight I should’ve asked first and walked out but I’m too polite as she packed them already.I won’t be coming back.

I've been going to David's Cakes for decades because the quality is perfect. I'll travel 20km from my home to purchase a cake or any of the other bakery products because I know I'll get a product that tastes amazing. You can tell they use quality flavours, essences and other ingredients compared to other local cake shops which use cheap ingredients. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend David's Cakes because the quality is excellent.

RUDE Rude staff, I was left standing ignored by the older staff member. She looked at me and continued to stack a shelf which i waited patiently for her to finish. When she finished i tried talking to her and was ignored apparently because i was on the phone which i had put down. There was no other customers she continued to ignore me. When I questioned her why she can not see me, she raised her voice and yelled at me and kept yelling and yelling! I think she needs some time off work for stress or needs customer service skills. It was a terrible experience and I will never enter again.

Best cakes and pies ever. 30years in business, this year. I have been going there since the day it opened. Do yourself a favour go there.

This place is DEVINE!Everything is made the real way with butter and cream and sugar and eggs and vanilla bean and Belgian chocolate.It isn’t good for you and it’s not vegan but it is great for your soul. Eating food made with such love and care makes life worth living.If you want lunch a sausage roll and a custard scroll.If you need to get dinner for the family a family pie or a quiche.If you need dessert try the chocolate mousse cake.
