Portland Maritime Discovery Centre
Free entry so everyone should have a look.Exhibition is not very big but very well presented. A very awesome Whale skeleton and also 1:1 boat exhibits. Has a nice collection of maritime items and whale / dolphin skeletons. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

Such a fascinating place to read about and listen to the maritime history of the area. Incredible displays. Well worth spending time there.

A great place to learn the history of Portland and the whaling era of yester year... With shark info and the skeleton of a juvenile whale that washed up on shore years before... Bought souvenirs also...located near the piers and the bay it was a great place!

Awesome little museum for the family to visit on a rainy day. The kids absolutely enjoyed this place learning all about whales and maritime history and I must say the videos showing how Portland harbor was built where awesome.

Portland Maritime Discovery Centre
Interesting little display about Portland's marine history! You can have a look at a whale skeleton and even sit inside it on a bench for some photos, and after you're done, there's a good café to eat at and enjoy the seaside view.FYI the display is small, but to me it was interesting. If you don't care about boating and/or history, the $7 entry price may not be worth it, but it's a good way to spend 30 or so minutes before or after lunch!Friendly staff can also provide info on destinations to visit while in Portland and also have a nice gift shop!A well worth stop on your trip!

Portland Maritime Discovery Centre
A great place to check out when in Portland. Very informative museum on the history of the Port as well as it's historic whaling industry. The staff member behind the desk provided great education and also helped us out with some recommended places of interest around the area. Dogs welcome too; which was a bonus for us.

I love coming here. The view is amazing, the ambiance us very relaxing and Steve and his waitress are very professional. Love the food.
