Berida Hotel

We had a fantastic stay at Berida. The room was clean, beautifully decorated and felt homely. But most importantly the staff were so accommodating and gracious! Will definitely be recommending to friends and family, and visiting again.

Unforgivable Service at Berida Hotel and Bistro Sociale, BowralMy recent experience at Berida Hotel and its restaurant, Bistro Sociale, in Bowral, New South Wales, was a disaster. What was meant to be a joyful Mother's Day celebration with my stepson and partner turned into a nightmare due to the inexcusable behavior of the hotel's management.On arrival, we were charmed by the inviting ambiance of the fireplace, a warmth that would soon be completely overshadowed by the hotel's service. Our first indication of the impending disappointment came when we tried to book a table at Bistro Sociale. Despite being hotel guests, we were astonishingly informed that no tables were available - a flagrant disregard for hospitality norms. Their suggested alternative was a table at the whiskey bar, an utterly inappropriate suggestion given the presence of our 10-year-old stepson.The hotel's manager, whose name I withhold, showed an appalling lack of customer service skills. Despite seeing several unoccupied tables for over three hours, he stubbornly insisted none were available.In an appalling escalation, we were unjustly accused of causing a disturbance and asked to leave the hotel. This, while we were quietly conversing amongst ourselves in Portuguese, and had not interacted with the staff since our failed attempt to book a table. His threat to call the police on us, a family with a young child, was a gross overreaction and a testament to his lack of managerial aptitude.Upon revealing our association with law firms, his tone suddenly shifted. He then hastily offered a free night at the hotel, a pathetic attempt to pacify us. My partner gracefully declined, stating our willingness to pay and point out that we do not need any kind of charity.While the food at Bistro Sociale was indeed delectable, it was nowhere near enough to make up for the atrocious service and overall dreadful experience. The unprofessional management and dreadful customer service were shocking and utterly unacceptable.To sum up, Berida Hotel and Bistro Sociale massively failed to deliver on the promise of a pleasant stay. The management should be ashamed of their abysmal customer service. A hotel of this supposed caliber should focus on providing an exceptional experience for its guests, rather than ruining special occasions with their disgraceful behavior.

The spa/pool/gym/game room complex overall is great - we managed to enjoy the spa by ourselves for the most part during our stay.It looks like there are renovations going on (which were alerted to before we arrived). We weren't disturbed by any works during our stay.Our room was cosy & nice enough.Has an excellent whisky bar.The restaurant was excellent for dinner.The breakfast buffet seems overpriced for what it is - even with the members discount.We chose made to order items which turned out to be sub-par. This was acknowledged & sorted out by the restaurant. It was the only negative of our stay.Would recommend.

We had a fantastic evening at Aspinall's whiskey lounge at the Berida Hotel. A really good bar, impressively extensive range, cosy, comfy, quiet, and not overly pricey. A great spot to hang out for a whole evening and chat, with drinks and nibblies flowing.

I dined at a lovely restaurant in this beautiful charming hotel. We took amazing photos. I bought local jams,salad dressing , honey and chocolates from a little shop in this hotel. They are so very good and delicious. We would consider staying in this charming hotel the next time we visit.

The staff were so friendly, giving and kind. It felt like a home away from home, I didn't want to leave. The atmosphere and charm of a beautiful estate with all the modern finishings.Cute cozy rooms which smell divine, plush robes and slippers. Beautiful amenties including an amazing restaurant with amazing staff and cuisine, spa, pool, library, pool room, gin room and convience store.Just a few minutes stroll on to the main street of Bowral. Perfect location.

Staff are incredibly attentive and accommodating, right through from reception, bar and restaurant staff and housekeeping. Facilities are fantastic. We used the sauna, pool, gym and spa every day. Our dinner in the restaurant was delicious and there are plenty of options in the buffet breakfast, catering for all tastes and needs. We enjoyed being able to pop down for a drink of an evening, too. The rooms are comfortable and luxurious, although small. There are small nooks to escape to for quiet reading throughout the hotel. We were there as three families; an older person, two adults with a teenager and two adults with three little children.

From the minute I booked to the time I left, the staff were just incredible!! Molly, in the restaurant went over and above to assist me in trying to book and that was before I checked in. The staff were always smiling and very helpful, housekeeping were so friendly and so good. The staff everywhere in the hotel just made our stay perfect. The place is so clean and warm and relaxing. My 6yr old daughter felt like she was at home. Thank you to everyone at Berida Hotel and if there were more stars I would continue adding them on :)

We spent two nights over the weekend at Berida Hotel. Though it rained the whole weekend, we had a fabulous time. We enjoyed a dinner at Bistro Sociale, and had a gin or two, or three. We also checked out Aspinalls Whisky Bar for some whiskies and bar snacks. We love the feel of this hotel, the opulence of the decor and staff were friendly and attentive.

Warning for those booking for a high tea experience.I made a reservation for Mothers Day for high tea one month prior to the day and disclosed dietary requirements at the time of booking. The online booking platform allowed me to select dietary requirements.I have then received a call three days out from my booking from the Hotel advising they cannot cater for dietary requirements.Whilst the Hotel did offer a refund, I have now been left with a cancelled booking and an inability to book elsewhere due to a lack of notice.Disappointed is an understatement.Recommend considering several other venues in the area who are much more organised and courteous than this one.
